I've recently been thinking about transferring my main off a Medium Pop to a High Pop.. I'm on at odd hours of the day and finding groups and people to play with isn't always easy on Medium Population I feel..

I'm sure there are downsides of high population servers as well... just curious which you guys play on? Not necessarily bot, but I am sure there are some perks of botting on a medium population vs high population server as well..

Also it's generally safe to assume that high population servers have better overall raid progression, yeah?

Not necessarily on the raid progression front. It seems some of the bigger guilds as far as that goes are on servers that vary vastly in size. I play on a medium population server, and it kind of sucks since the herb and ore price bottomed out pretty quickly. As far as being on at odd hours, i used to be on a high pop server that took hours of queue at big release time to get on, and yeah there was stuff going on all the time.

Yeah I play on medium servers too and the same thing has happened to our AH. But our problem is that there is someone who is also using a bot and he is destroying the market. Luckily when cata first came out I made 100k really fast so I already have all the mounts and maxed professions with more then enough in the bank to last me until that idiot gets caught. Been trying to sell stuff recently and stacks for cata stuff cost less then what wrath stuff did. I can see how a high pop server would have more need but also how that would attract other botters. I can't remember what the site was called but you could see the average prices for mats on different servers and see the trends of what they have been doing. Maybe that would help your decision.

I think wowhead has something like this, but without the trends stuff
