I've read a few posts and a lot of people mention warden.

From what i gather its a automated safety program that blizzard have made but could somebody explain a little about it for me please? :)

Can you tell plz, what happens when warden gets update?

What HB doing in this time?

Sorry for my english :)

Hb kicks all users off and doesn't let you logg backin for savety reasons..

As far as I've heard, Warden isn't rly being used actively anymore since the lawsuit vs Glider.

When i used mywow (sgather), its wrote in debug window about periodic (1-5 sec) warden scans, so I interested in this question :)

Warden was the cause of blocking my account for 3 days)

IMHO do not underestimate it :)
no, the server side monitoring and statistics blocked your account for 3 days. blizzard has invested in more server side tools for detection rather then client side, and thats what your seeing now.

Keep in mind, unless someone here has a contact that is currently working for Blizz, all of this is pretty much speculation (a fancy word for a GUESS). We can't trust what Blizz says publicly simply because there is no obligation of them to be truthful about it. Let's face it, if you were them, would you disclose the truth of what you were doing to combat 'the enemy'? I know I wouldn't.

That being said, as I've said before, I don't think that they are trying as hard as they could to combat botting and botters. I feel (and again, just my own opinion, not based on ANY actual info) that if they truly wanted to, there are enough unique indications that they could have easily tracked to determine HB users. I think that they want the perception of being against botting/botters, but don't want to actually pursue them too much, or they would lose too many subscribers. IMHO, we don't "make waves" (get reported), they leave us alone. They know that the lawsuit will take years... but again, the perception is that they are doing something about it.

I do not know what to think. I both agree with you and against your words :)
Rather, I have no information about it, so I'm asking stupid questions on the forum:) but I am very interested in this side of the coin.

A 'server side tool' is something that is on the Blizzard servers to detect you botting. Could be something checking how long you've been doing the same thing, could be something looking for what you're doing, the order, the speed, the location... could be anything... but 'server side' means on their computers, 'client side' means your computer.

the actions of your toon are put into a database on their server (we dont know what actions they monitor) when enough data is collected for a certain thing they are looking for, they then compare the data from your toon, to all other toons, and looks for patterns, once thats done, botters stick out like a sore thumb, however its still not 100% fool proof, so they instead setup "Traps" when you trigger one of these traps you get disconnected and your account locked, and perhaps temp banned. (exploiting the economy is a generic reason used often).

its nothing new, teachers have had this technology where they scan in papers and can tell if the student cheated or copied out of a book, the idea is no two people will perform the exact same action the exact same way.

if your more interested in this, if you have netflix watch the movie "freakonomics". when you look at the data its easy to tell who cheats.
