What is the best virtualization?

For those running wow on Virtual Machine, which virtualization application do you think that is the best for the role and which version of it do you use?

For example VirtualBox or VMWare Workstation or anyother, etc.

And do you think the host OS matters at all or both Windows and Linux will give you about the same performance overall?

Well, last time I tried VirtualBox it didn't work for me - it had issues with the memory magic HB does and I wasn't able to get it running. But that was 2 years ago, I've been running VMware since then (Player works just fine).

I cannot compare between host OSes as I'm only running linux, but there is a performance drop between host (playing WoW with Wine) and VM. The biggest performance boost however was switching the guest OS from XP to W7 (2-3 times faster!).
