What happened to all CC developers?

Well, in the last few days i 've been trying some new classes, and found there are very few options in the CC sub-forum. Some of the developers are gone, due to the new rule that allows everybody to rip-off their work, and some others are no longer supporting their projects... Well, guess what? What everybody predicted, HAPPENED.
I know there won't be more classes like SHAMWOW, but for some classes/specs there's nothing to choose from...
So, are you going to do something about it?

Nope.

People said it will be a huge copy and stealing orgy which just DID NOT happen.

There is still not the slightest reason to leave HB.

The new rules are in no way "bad".
 
I've been ignoring my project because I've been addicted to diablo T_T

No one said that the changes were "Bad", most Dev's did not agree as we received no pre-knowledge of the change or where given the time to take down their work before the change occurred. Other then that I feel the forum makeover is a needed change, less clutter and more straight forward threads. More CC will come, but it will take time as the Dev's that are left are on different HB projects or have Real Lives/Jobs to live/do.

On a different note, Amplify is still the top for AFK Mage PvP as it is the only one that supports Frost at this time.
 
Awesome that TankLeader and SWTOR have a forum to talk on, but why am i seeing it? I Don't subscribe to either one of those! i DO love the fact that "Bot Downloads" finally got a headline button. Great job!
 
look, theres not a lot going on with wow right now, but it will pickup when MoP comes out. thats just how it is. i do plan on re-writing my mage CC, and maybe zerfall, but right now i dont see the need to update and make major changes.

thinking of Naming the new mage CC "The Great and Powerful Trixie!"

That is a bad reason for lack of updates on DEVs behalf. The trouble is people see alot of work going into D3 and SWTOR bot and we are left with "Dungeonbuddy will be here soon" How long ago was soon? Or within 30 days? I mean really, are we talking earth days or Venus days? The lack of class choices is just 1 more minor point that adds up.

Singular *SHOULD* by now be the one and only CC users need but guess what, it's not. Raphus started updating it and was doing a great job on it but then seems to have just stopped. Yes it's great when end USERS make CCs for others to use but there just shouldn't be a need for that. Especially seeing as how long HB has been out. Sorry but there just is no excuse for it.

look as far as raphus goes, hes been busy he has his own company and other things that are away from us, so thats why hes not been around doing updates. Dungeon buddy is done we're just waiting on the rest of the dungeons to be scripted, that in itself takes time to do, if we where to release it right now, people would be bitching because "i cant get it to run X instance" and expecting you guys to help fill in the gaps obviously wont happen, once the scripts are done it will be released.

as far as singular, its been pretty dam good, ive been using it on my druid and have had no complaints, it does what it was designed to do, and thats get the job done. not rank highest on DPS or Rock hard in Battleground, but do whats needed, and level 1-85, work in PVP, and (it shouldn't even be on this list but) work in instances. its a bot, its never going to be as good as a real player, but as far as singular getting the job done, it does that and that's what it was coded for.

it may seem like "all the developers are working on SWTOR and D3, and leaving HB all alone and sad" we're not , there's a lot of new features that we haven't tried before being implemented in these new bots, that if they work well, will be rolled into honorbuddy (as well as normal HB updates, there just aren't enough right now to make it worth while to do a new version), but obviously doing it right now would mean a lot of pissed off users (because things might be broken) and there being no point to it since the entire bot is going to have to be re-worked for Mists anyway (even if we dont add new features). right now the HB works really well, and i think a lot of people are happy with it, mess with stuff, just to mess with it.

once we see Mists start getting closer we will see things pick back up, but we least 4 months away and WoW as it currently is, isnt holding enough people, lots of people are leaving for D3 and just quitting all together, and that goes for botters community developers a like. right now is that slump that happens right before an expansion, and there's nothing we can really do about it and messing with something that works just to mess with it, isn't the way to fix it.

Yes and i don't see where i said anything was easy. What i said and alluded too was that:

1. Dungeonbuddy should have been done by now
and
2. Singular should most assuredly be the only only CC we need.

So if you don't mind you can keep your snarky questions to yourself if there is nothing productive for you to add.
 
Seeing as how there's all these new bots are you guys hiring more people to work on separate bots or is there the same amount of people because if that's the case then we can pretty much say goodbye to all the developers for honorbuddy :(

I really am not looking to get into anything with you man but saying "I run singular with my druid and it's great" means nothing. Playing kitty or bear by any chance? Take a look at the Singular thread and you might see some of the recurring issues people have with other classes. It should also be the only healing class needed but again as can be seen in the CC subforum only user created classes are worth a damn for healing.

I also never said "all the developers are working on SWTOR and D3, and leaving HB all alone and sad" i know there are at least 2 coders working on DBuddy and i am sure it will rock...whenever it comes around.

yes we've been bringing in more people, hell we brought in at least another 3 people just for BW alone. like is said in my long post, there's no real point to making big changes in honorbuddy right now, that's why it seems like there's not a lot going on.

im been healing instances and battlegrounds with it, and singular has been doing fine, actually much better then the other one i tried. so obviously saying "this thing" is better then "that thing" is all about point of view.
 
dont worry, i got your guys back and a promise things will pick back up, and that good things are coming.
 
Most CC devs are doing what a lot of wow players are doing... playing something else. Nothing has changed in Cata and HB works fine now.

The HB team is working on DungeonBuddy, and some of the other bots they have out. Since HB works, they're shifting focus to other areas and newer features right now. Makes sense to me. Much better decision than writing a CC for PvP that'll be useless once MoP hits.
