What for farm before cataclysm?

Hey guys,
I'm sorry if this is the wrong place or someone already asked this.
I have heard about people making TONS of gold by farming stuff that is needed for cataclysm.

What is the best item to farm, preferably ore, to make tons of gold for cataclysm?

Nvm, you said "before Cata". Personally, I've stopped gathering herbs. Prices for both bare herbs and flasks have dropped through the floor on my server. Mining can still net 2-3k per day just from smelting/selling Saronite bars. Add in some Titanium/Titansteel and Eternals and I'm still making about 5k per day on 1 bot.

• Obsidian is the new common mineral (same as Cobalt in WotLK) found when mining in Cataclysm, and can contain gems, Volatile Fire, and Volatile Shadow.
  
• Elementium is the new uncommon mineral (same as Saronite in WotLK) found when mining in Cataclysm, and can contain gems, Volatile Fire, Volatile Water, or Volatile Earth.
  
• Pyrite is the new rare mineral (same as Titanium in WotLK) found when mining in Cataclysm, and can contain gems and Volatile Fire.

These are going to provide the biggest profits. They will be needed for a lot of different trade skills (mining, blacksmithing, jewelcrafting, engineering and even alchemy to some extent) so the demand and price will be high for the first few weeks.

I'm thinking no. Here is the 450-550 list for Blacksmithing.

Titansteel items will still give skill points for 450-490ish, but that would not be very economical.

The lowest tier 425 uses Obsidian ore for skilling up (yellow skill points for 450) and it should be easily obtainable.

Herbs still be good for cata too though right? I've kind of stopped herbing on one server.. it still sells here and there but I added a 2nd miner on that server.. my other server I have a buyer that still buys all of my icethorn/lich for 16g/stack (meh but its income).

Started prospecting my titanium and making jewelry from the gems/ee's though, titanium is hard to get rid of otherwise

I have been making good gold on low lvl mats starter mats mostly. just been picking them up as i lvl some new toons.

imho best bet is mining and J/C because you can prospect the saronite and titanium.. ive been mining and gathering, prices have also shot down low, but just save up and dump all the mats in AH the day cata drops you should make a lot-o-gold because people will be needing your mats to level up!
