Just so there are no misunderstandings - what exactly is the Demonbuddy Navigation Server?

The primary purpose of the Nav servers was to stop pirating. People are saying it was *****ed in only a few days after the release of DB so the pirating continues whilst us paying customers have to deal with a slower botting experience with stuck errors, "waiting to recieve data" etc.

Welcome to DRM. Never in the history of DRM has it ever improved the paying customers experience.

I read a brilliant quote once about software and DRM.

"You are better off spending time making the product better so people want to buy it rather than trying to stop people from stealing it. The people who steal it won't pay for it anyways and the people who want to purchase it get a better product."

I read this after spending HOURS on my own DRM system for my products. It is 100% true. All that time I could have been using to improve my product rather than try to make an extra 10% try to not steal it.
thank you !

Now we can only hope bossland comes to the same conclusion, sooner, rather than later!!

This may be true for all services and products that are considered legitimate.. But this is not one of those programs. It's considered a "hacker" or "*****er" resource, so unfortunately, the same rule does not apply, IMO.

well, unless the DRM stops turning my bot into a retard waiting for nav servers I'll look into a way to work around it. Ironic that I might end up going for a pirated version of the bot I've got a lifetime paid version of..

Okay, so we've concluded that it sucks. But I'm curious as to what it's function is? Does it tell the bot where to go or something?

I was kind of hoping that the devs would give an answer since it's not in the FAQ. I understand that it is piracy protection and that server outage can stop your bot.

I'm not a fan but understanding how it's affecting me better is really necessary to improve my botting experience.

ie. I do Hardcore botting and I would like to have some kind of safe retreat for the bot in the event of nav server outage.

Without getting too technical about the specifics, it's pretty clear that the navigation servers supply demonbuddy with the data it needs to move around each newly loaded level. This is why your bot gets "stuck" and has no idea where to go when the nav servers aren't responding -- it doesn't have any map information that our plugins (adventurer, trinity) can use to get around the level.

I'm usually all for pirating things, software included. In the case of Demonbuddy/Honorbuddy it was just more convenient to just buy it rather than pirating it. A piece of software that updates as often as the buddy products it's quite annoying to try to keep infront of the constant updating. Running an outdated bot/hack is not a good idea if you value your accounts. Ontop of that it requires a lot of extra learning on how to run it with workarounds and all that together with the learning that's required to just run the bot for your own specific needs/purposes... is just too much effort for very little gain.

Servers unreachable again today? I'm using a Gigabit connection at work, internet presence being 10Gbit to my 1Gbit port.. this sucks :p
