What does "bool PlayerAlert = true" do?

What will happen if player alert is set to true? Is it for the bot (i.e. internal alert in the logs), or will it alert me via sound, or what?
 
Some CC's contain the above statement, and yes, If a player is within 100yards (afaik) it'll play a little sound so your aware of this.
