What are holy priest's spam spell for when soloing?

My level 13 priest is going:

{Casts mind blast}
{Stands around, casting shields and shit for 8 seconds}
{Casts mind blast}
{Guy is dead}
{Loot}
{Wait like 4 seconds}
{Cast mind blast}

Etc...

I know I could use smite, but, it's pretty terrible at doing ANY form of damage and it just wastes mana (like, 99% of the time is misses so I might as well just cast mind blast). Oh, and I'm not talking about just level 13, I'm talking about 1-85.

Just out of curiosity, but why are you leveling holy? Spriest is sooooo much easier, then dual spec at 40 if you actually want to play holy
