What are Gold Sellers going to do when Cata comes?

Hey everybody, this is a question that has been haunting me ever since Blizz announced Cata. But what are gold sellers going to do? Cancel all farming account except one, level him to 85 then find best ways to make gold? Not cancel any, level them all to 85, and find best ways?

For people in the beta, have you already found the best way to make gold? Is it easy? Is it still farming with Herb/Mining?

Also, what do people expect the gold prices to drop to? $1/k? Or do you think it will change much?

Any other information on the matter would help not only me, but a lot others too im sure!

I hope the new gold sinks in cata (mounts like the travelers tundra and chopper) and the fact that everyone will have to pay to level their professions to 525 will raise the demand for gold.

I think as mentioned profs will be in demand etc but i do think that blizzard will follow their trends of making gold worth less and less. Chances are by cata we will see price falls and that will be high end prices after a few months they willl probably drop even further. More than likely farmers will lvl all their toons at once.

Personally, i'll stop all my accounts except one that i'll level by hand/bot mix.
Just to see the new "farmables" and wait till the market stabilize a bit.
And just incase if blizzard decided to do a little cleanup :>

And about the gold prices.... i can't really be sure since i don't work at a reseller company and know how they exactly work... but i think it'll go up a bit, stay at a certain level for a couple of weeks (or less) then start dropping depending on how easy the gold will be gained after the update(s).

So your saying that prices for gold will plummet to an all time low? Im very curious to what the gold prices will be and the amount of gold that you get per hour in Cata, and too see if you will be losing profit, or be making more?

This is what i was thinking of doing, and the gold prices is what i was thinking as well, but i think they will drop, as they always have, and guaranteed they will :/

No one knows until it comes. We test the waters and see what happens. I'm not one to be a follower and sit around and wait until someone else cracks the can. If I have to be the one to step outside the line then so be it. I know I'm going to be really starting to learn more about making custom profiles for GB thats for damn sure.

I know we have Beta testers in this community, can any of them contribute to what the best way to Make gold in Cata is?

Demand will go up, Supply of botters/goldsellers will go down = Price increase until market levels out and then sudden drop over the course of 3-5weeks.

Well i don't have that many bots, but I will upgrade them all and start 2-3 on mixed pvp - grindin(skinning) to get an early goldboost (new mat prices are crazy in every expansion)
Will try to find skinnable mobs that aren't part of a quest ( to avoid questing / farmin people)

1-2 are going to start with some gathering.. it won't be a lot because the areas will be overfarmed but like i said the prices are going to go crazy... (probably lvl these with pvp or own grinding profile)

as soon as these chars hit 80 most players are going to be exploring the new dungeons.. so the supply of mats is still rather low.. take advantage sell mats as early as possible (every day, no stacking) to get the most buck for ur bang ^^

I believe PVP is going to be nice way to lvl up, because the bg's are going to be packed with all these folks that don't care about PVE and u don't get into overfarmed areas ^^

so thats my plan so far.. any feedback?^^

As long as blizzard continues to inflate the market then the price of gold will fall. Its the simple supply and demand. They can beat the gold sellers by lowering the demand to the point where the profits arent worth the cost and time involved. Then you will see the every day people jumping ship while the chinese keep farming away

All the new dailies and quests give out more gold than they used to. Therefor the need to buy gold will fall. The only thing that would keep demand up would be the price of the items that will make their way to the AH. BoE items and mats.

There is alot of uncertanty right now as we wait to see how the market will be when the dust settles. There is the initial shock of investing 40 bucks per cata key, then there is the leveling a toon to 85. Then leveling your professions to 525. From there you will be competing with all the other botters/legit players for the new mats that will be selling at a premium price in the first few months. Then you will see a gradual decrease in demand as blizz releases more patches to make getting gold easier.

Bottom line. If gold is easy to get, people wont buy it. Unless blizz has a 50k mount or somthing, there will be no need to aquire a huge sum of gold.

I think that prices will go right up, i hope that like most expansions the best gear in game will be crafted. Weapons will drive prices right up for ore, hopefully with the new instances we will see some new flasks which will in tern drive herbs up also.

*fingers crossed*

Also think the fact that there will be 10,000 people herbing that its going to be hard for 1 person to accumulate a 'lot' of herbs so each person will have there prices up to make it worth the time.

If the market is high gold will be needed!

I belive the demand for Gold is going to stay the same as it is today after the dust settled....

Gold is going to be easier to get, but the Gold sinks (Vanity items, Repaid cost, enchants etc) are going to be higher aswell.
See in BC you had 20k and you were doing really good.. but by then 5k was the most expensive thing to get (epic mount)..
with WotLK 20k are a piece of cake but bigger gold sinks got implemented, vanity items like chopper, Mat Prices got higher (at least until the drop a couple of month ago)

I believe things will even out and the demand for gold is still going to be there.

I have been stock piling gold for the past few months. I now have 4 gbanks with 6 tabs full of mats people will probably stop farming, at least on my main server. Right now low levels herbs sell for more than northrend herbs, goldthorn... 150g a stack, same for leather and level 20-30 head gear. I saw a level 28 leather head piece a few days ago for 250g in the AH and every day low levels items are going up.
I will level my first main 5 80's together, either using HB or dual box software like I have in the past, once those are done they will be out farming and I'll do the next set of 80's.

Im sure there are more experienced economists out here. but i think after the initial surge of gold demand. everything will float back down to where you will make about the same RL money as you do now per account. Gold will be easier to get. so the price will go down. but it being easier to get means you will be able to get more. for example. if you make lets say 5k gold a day right now. and lets say it sells for $2 per k. if cata makes it to where you make 10k gold per day. the average price of gold will settle out near $1 per k. but this will mean you will still get paid about the same then as you do now. will just seem suckier selling your gold for so much less..lol

This is what i am HOPING will happen, but im afraid that so many people will be farming, that the prices will drop for gold, OR you only make 7k as opposed to the 10k you said.

From the past patches and expansions blizzard have continously ruined gold prices and made things easier to get, frost lotus etc are prime examples. This will 100% continue to happen in my opinion.

Ofcourse it will. They cant beat us by detection, so the the next best weapon is to make gold worthless.

But honestly at this point they are spoon feeding all the wow players gold. I remember when making 1 gold gave me a tingle. Now one gold wont buy shit.

yeah lol even at like lvl 20 you need atleast 100g by the time you get mounts/bags/skills etc. Their making mounts cheaper scheme is kind of retarded as theyre crashing gold value anyway. To be honest its just like real world inflation.
