I know there a ton of topics around the net for this. But wanted to know, what you guys are useing to protect your pc?

I've tryed Norton, Bullguard and Avast. But either they slow my pc down like hell, or they make my wow crash :(

None... I use alot of common sense, things like noscript in firefox and don't run my user account as adminsitrator. :)

Avast for me

Ditto.

I used to have AVG but it had some conflicts with certain programs.

I wouldn't go with "None" because you'd just be asking for trouble. I'm not a retard with my PC (as someone above puts it) but I would rather be protected than oblivious.

Avast, and suprisingly Microsoft Security Essentials/Forefront.

Eset/nod32 when that doesn't work I use my psychic powers for evil :)

Morga

COMODO Internet Security.

It's the only AV I'd be happy to say rivals Kaspersky, except that COMODO is freeware.

None for me...If your not a retard you don't get viruses.

Except for the flash exploits that aren't prevented by any anti-virus program. In fact the latest one required you to install the Flash 10.1 beta to close the hole. Didn't require you to click on anything, all you had to do is go to a page with a malicious flash ad on it and you would be exploited. I know it happened to me. No script wouldn't fix that problem either. Only way to prevent that would be to run without flash installed at all.

And this is also why I support Steve Jobs lack of support for Flash.

NOD32 since the beginning of time and interwebz, no virus so far (knocks on wood).

Microsoft Security Essentials. Tried a bunch of others but I believe it is the best free one. Also use McAfee Enterprize but it's a pain in the arse.

Amen to that. For those running without one...just do an online av/malware check and then report back here.....trust me...you are not clean unless you only spend your time online without a browser.
Last time i cleaned mine i had picked up 7 risks just from visiting webpages without downloading. If they would actually hurt your comp is something else, but they were there.
It's got nothing to do with common sense

thank you sir for that highly qualified remark.

first off retardation is NO joke.
some of the people who program these lill tidbits such as virus, keylogger, rootkit and crumpets are no dumdums either. Bastards: YES
To tie your personal IQ to the fact you havent gotten a virus yet - doesnt seem too smart.
have a nice day.

My Exp.:
norton commando used to be my top choce - alas symantec is a resource hog, and kills a couple of my programs
anti vir - hm not really
kaspersky - was good for a while, but since -736 it has problems - resource hog, way too many false positives, kicks wow frequently
mcaffee - UofW back in 2000, it was nice handy and fast, but im glad the license ran out at work. slows down everything.
best of all there is NO 100% security

so i use a combo of router, firewall, security essentials, firefox and common sense <--- all for free:cool:

AVG for me

Gdata Antivirus as the AV and Outpost Pro as the Firewall.

Pfft i've been running with no AV for atleast 5 years now... Never got a virus...

As you said at the end of your post, Common sense! I know alot of people lack this, but it doesn't mean all of us do.
By the way, The reason i don't bother with AV is because they are so restricting! Detecting a false positive on a program i'm writing then moving it to the "safe corner" is not nice :(

You also have a nice day :)

AVG for me

No it's quotes like the one below that start flaming and trolling.

If you had a friend or family member with a real case of "retard" you'd know how fucking offensive that term really is.

I forgot to mention that NOD 32 is really great as well.
