Weird friend request from GM236

Hey not sure where ton put this but last night while playing around lvling one of my toons with Kicks profiles I got a strange group invite from a character named blizzardgm, they were in blasted lands and didn't say a thing just invited me to group.

I accepted and still got no response so I left the group

I then about 10 seconds later got a friend request from GM236 and by his stage I was like of shite I'm done...I accepted and said hello and once again no response. I waited like 5 mins and said hello what's up again no response so I deleted the request...

I expected to get an email etc but I haven't and I am still about to log on etc

Has anyone else had this happen?

I'm giving botting a good long break just to see what happens but still nervous that's for sure
 
I got an invite from "blizzardgm" today as well.. ignored it though, never got a friend request. What server are you on?

This happened on ED

I hope it's a scam but how can some get a name like that surely blizz wouldn't allow it?
 
It's definitely a scam, every few weeks or so someone makes a thread about it. Not a really big problem so they didn't take any action against it so far. Official Blizzard employees have the Blizz logo in front of their names anyway.
 
When a gm contacts you in game it will have the blue blizz logo next to their name and a different chat dialog opens up, so 100% fake/scam.
 
yep is 100% scam and you can be sure if blizzard want to check your account they won`t send you first friend request xd lol i had few sytuations with blizz and if they wish to check your char they simple invite them self to the party scan your full logs without sending you requests hehe also if they want to talk to you the blue blizz logo will appear with telling you GM want to chat with you. But i can a sure you they want chat with you if they think you are boting xd they simply gonna ban you xd

And to those scamers with names BlizzGM209784638 etc. you can say same kind word i always say to them ( FU and go Fuc...yourself) :)

If the chat window doesn't look like that, then its 100% a scam.
