Warden Updates after July 22 2014

On July 22, Blizzard pushed a change to WoW's version of their anti cheat system, Warden. This is the first change that concerns us in over 3 years. The risks associated with botting have risen and it will be at least 30 days before we can report on the changes.

If this increased risk makes you uncomfortable, now would be the time to stop botting. We are re-opening our auth servers right now.

In the wise words of Sergeant Esterhaus, "Lets be careful out there." Happy botting.

Le 22 juillet, Blizzard a mis à jour son système anti-cheat, Warden. C'est le premier changement qui nous concerne depuis trois ans. Le risque lié au botting a augmenté, et il nous faudra au moins 30 jours pour signaler les changements. Cependant, cela ne signifie pas que le bot va être arrêté pendant ce temps.

Si l'augmentation des risques vous rend mal à l'aise, c'est le moment d'arrêter de botter.

El 22 de julio, de Blizzard hizo un cambio del sistema anticheat. Este es el primer cambio que nos preocupa en más de 3 años. Los riesgos asociados con los bots han aumentado y necesitaremos al menos 30 días antes de que podamos informar sobre los cambios.

Sera mejor de dejar de usar el bot si este aumento del riesgo os hace sentir incómodos. Estamos volviendo a abrir nuestros servidores de autenticación, pero como dice el Sargento Esterhaus, "Vamos a tener cuidado ahí fuera."

Today July 27 2014 at 0345 UTC, a Warden module was seen that caused some concern. The changes appear to be innocuous so we are re-opening auth. As I said earlier this week, it will be late August before we can report to you, our users, what we think is going on. For now all we can say is that Warden is being worked on.

Another new module a few hours ago and again we had to go offline to make checks. We are back now.

No real news

Its been over a month. The good news is that Blizzard does not appear to have done anything that targets our bots. The bad news is that they are working on Warden after leaving it unchanged for 3 years.

The overall message remains the same. For now we are OK to bot.
