I have seen alot of gold/botting sites in the past that have asked you to write letters to Blizzard explaining why gold buying/selling and botting should be allowed.

I don't know about others but I completely disagree with this. When you think about it... the only reason most people bot is to get a better advantage over other players and still continue to have a life. So if everyone botted... it would kind of destroy the point of it.

No I don't think Blizzard should allow botting, and about gold selling I have mixed feelings. It's alright to an extent but it will give huge advantages with people who have a lot of money to blow off on this game.

As Blizzard says, I believe the same (under their tips when loading a map): "Everything is good in moderation, including World of Warcraft."

I vote keep it against ToA, it makes everything more profitable = )

I think blizz should allow gamecards to be sold for in-game gold like in EVE Online. Thats as far as I should want them to go though.

Allowing botting would absolutely kill the game. Its like when I've been playing a game and I get stuck at a point so I use a cheat, lets say Mafia II, once I use the cheat I lose all interest in the game.

Step 1: Blizzard allows botting
Step 2: I'm out of a business and id have to actually get a job.
Step 3: I go on a killing spree.

I think it's best we prevent that :P. (I'm kidding btw)

this thread is pointless. Blizzard will never allow cheating in a game. If Blizzard was for selling gold, they would sell it themselves. End of story.

If Blizzard allowed the sale of gold you better believe they would be the only one selling it.
Its call micro-transactions.

I was simply asking for an opinion. I know blizzard would never do somthing like this. I just noticed alot of people wanted it to happen and I disagreed.

no, think about it for a second. Theres thousands of dollars every month blizzard would be missing out on if they didn't sell gold and accounts. We all know they're greedy and only care about one thing: money. So who's to say that blizzard isn't secretly one of these wow trading companies? There's just to much money floating around to not get in on it.

They hardly do anything to stop it (and trust me if they really wanted to stop gold/account sellers you bet your ass they could do it all they would have to do is open a subpoena and have all these websites shut down because it is in fact illegal and against their tos). They know they exist they know these forums exist they aren't stupid. So why aren't they doing anything? Because they're in on it themselves.

They only shut down the major companies because they're cutting in on their action and they want to make it look like they're doing something. When in reality, they really could care less. Just my opinion.

Sounds reasonable to me I thought the same thing awhile back, I mean shit they could make tons of money from doing something like that, because I owned and worked for private servers and you can just add gold to yourself, they would never have to farm, they could add items to themselves and sell them like a lot of other company's do, Blizzard would only have to type in a few words on the keyboard to get everything they need, make a website like other company's and start selling. If I was blizzard I would do the same thing, it's all about making money. That is a good & fast way to make money.

I don't think they do that because cloning a whole bunch of gold will just make prices go to zip. Prices are slowly going down to zip but because gold is really easy to make now and theres less lazy people. But farming themselves is a possiblity.

That's not quite the same as botting. I bot because I don't want to manually grind (this applies to rep grinding for instance). Basically the only reason I bot at all is to save myself time not necessarily to get an advantage over someone else. Heck all the gold I spend in game is for vanity items. I can easily get the same amount of gold or pretty close just by playing the auction house and doing dailies however that is incredibly boring imo.

I also use wow infinity just to get the explorer achievement and doing something like baron runs but that still wont give me any advantage besides a bigger epeen. Now on the other hand there are people who use WI in pvp which I just find absurd. When I'm playing the game I don't want to cheat..at that point its just a waste of time imo. At least by playing legitimately when it matters I can feel a sense of accomplishment in killing a boss, wining a bg, arena, or whatever it may be. As the game currently is pretty much all rep grinds are basically for achievements and some item perks but nothing game breaking, and thus don't give you an incredible advantage over the normal player.

As for blizzard allowing botting..well MarkeeDragon was actually saying in one of his videos how certain games allow users to pay a few dollars to automate some in game actions such as farming. If anything they would impliment something like that, but I doubt they would. In terms of gold selling I'm pretty much indifferent as I don't sell gold. I'd imagine that if blizzard promoted sellers to use their own (blizzards) transaction processes in replacement of a dedicated website it may reduce spam as well as account fraud, but really...I don't know :p

^^^ there's someone who's thinking

the gold market would BLOW UP

If they did that I would run a legion of bots..if you don't sell any gold you are basically only paying for the keys and electricity + whatever manual labor you have to do like selling the stuff you farm on the ah. For that reason I doubt they would allow it since they would only be losing money from botters and legitimate players.
