Want to get bot, but have a few questions first about safety

I'm about to get the bot, but before I did I had some questions. I only have one account, and can't really afford another one at this point.

- Would it be considered "safe" to bot ~8 hours a day while watching it the entire time, using it for only leveling? I wouldn't care at all about gold/selling/professions/etc. just mainly leveling is the issue.
- If I do use the bot, and end up getting to level 85 without a ban, how much longer after not using a bot would you say I would be considered "safe" from receiving ban? In other words, as long as I don't use a bot again, would I be in the clear a month after using it?

you pretty much won't get banned unless you bot a ton of hours gathering herbs / ore

questing / rep grinding / bg's / arch / fishing, all pretty safe.

So then why do most of the people in Ban Forum get banned? And if I do happen to get hit with a ban for whatever reason, how often is it a perma ban on US servers as opposed to a 72 hr suspension? (I've had no actions against this account yet and I've had it for maybe ~3 yrs). Thanks!

It's pretty safe to say that almost every single ban these days is a result of 1 of two things:
1 Player Reports: This is the biggest cause. Blizzard doesn't actively look for bots but if enough player report you for say farming the same spot 24/7. You will get hammered. (ban-hammered that is)
2 Overkill: Putting 200 stacks for elementium ore on the AH completely destroying the market, farming 24/7 for weeks on end...

The general rule here on the forums, don't get too greedy, and you will be fine. As long as you don't run in front of blizz shouting "Hey douchebags, look at me i'm botting they won't come looking for you.

That being said, shit can always happen, and if you do get banned for botting it probably won't be a perma ban straight away, they usually hand out a 72h suspension with a warning first, depending on your account history.

Even a perma ban is fairly easy to dispute and get your account back by contacting blizz support.

Thanks for the advice. Do you recommend using a V . P. N. at all? For instance, I could use that to make my account appear to be logging in from Somalia until I hit level 85, then stop using the service. Any ideas? Also, why is it censored here? Thanks!

Simple
Because they're full of shit when they say things like " I was only boting for 2 - 3 hours a day" or "I only had 4 or 5 auctions in the AH".
The Truth is they were boting 8+ hours a day grinding in the same areas for those 8+ hours while they were at school or work and had hundreds of auctions in the AH.
Boting is rather safe as long as you sit there and pay attention to whats going on around you.
Never bot afk all it takes is one ass bag to pst you and if you're not paying attention its as simple as right click and report player now.

I have used other bots out there and was busted on 2 separate accounts, I switched over to HB and have NEVER EVER had an issue. This is the absolute best you can get.

Mega is so right about this...Even SoR Accounts are safe they dont look at you unless you make it you look like a bot!

Exactly,

Bot when you would normally play, or when you would play if you had the day off. Do not all of the sudden become an insomniac and play 24/7 or during weird hours where your account has never been online during those times.

Example.. I bot between the hours of 7am - 5pm. I then play at night myself with friends / guild .. whatever the case may be. When I log off at night, I log out of the game and get sleep like a normal human would

Now there have been plenty of occasions where I have played late nights or gotten up early the next day which is not entirely routine, but 99.9% of those times I am playing myself and running the bot.

Do not spend 8 hours in 1 area farming 1 thing. If you can't see yourself doing it, don't make the bot do it. Keep it reasonable, don't get greedy and you should stay clear of the radar. Take breaks also, make it look legit.
