W7/64 - settings got reset, while works fine on Vista/32

Strange issue on my computers: I was successfully running bot on Vista/32, but can't do same on Win7/64.

Everything looks fine, except one thing: some settings get reset eventually while bot working - pull distance, loot mobs and loot chests.

Maybe some others (which are not exposed to UI, but used internally when botting profile is loaded) as well.

The result is simple - bot does not works well, it keeps trying to get quests it already does, don't pull and kill mobs and don't loot them.

I moved manually whole bot folder from vista/32 to win7/64, so ALL settings are same.

Running "as admin"... can't find the reason why it was so right on vista/32, but does not work on win7/64.

Any ideas?
 
are you logged as admin on your win 7 machine?
 
Yes. Administrative account.

Just found one more thing: I have WinXP/32 on the same machine as Win7/64, logged into it and started the WoW from the very same folder on it. Same symptoms! So it's not really bound to OS itself, imho. I'm copying the WoW to anoher harddrive now (it is on SSD raid) to change it location, maybe something have to be with ssd ? Don't think so, but I'll give it a shot...
 
No luck. Copied WoW to another location, reinstalled buddy. Same effect: on this particular computer, some settings getting reset over and over during bot activity...

working hardware: Core 2 Duo, 4 GB RAM, nVidia GTS 250
bad one: i7 920, 12 GB, GTX 580
 
Update: this seem to happens only for quest bot, grind mode works fine.
 
I sometimes have this issue i normally just run honorbuddy as admin. try this. rightclicking -> Properties -> Compatibility -> Run the program as an administrator.

1) Upgrade to HB-2.0.0.5063, and
2) To get the settings to reliably 'stick', you must change them while Honorbuddy is not running.
Stop the bot, make your changes, then restart the bot.

Yes, there are certain quests that are really problematical in this regard, and I don't know why. For Horde, "Preserving the Barrens", and for Alliance there is "The Lost Courier", are two such examples. For some reason, either the WoWserver is not correctly reporting these quests as being completed, or Honorbuddy doesn't recognize it. The problem is not in the profile.

Sometimes, a stop/start of Honorbuddy will cause it to be recognized correctly. But more than likely, you're going to have to comment the problematical quest PickUp and TurnIn in the profile.

As I mentioned before, I really did run everything as admin. All the ways: logged as admin, "run as admin" for HB shortcut, and right-click-run-as-admin as well. 100% sure it's not an issue.

And as I say, I logged WinXP/32 on this problematic machine and I got absolutely same result. I'm admin in WinXP too.

And yes, I made settings changes without HB running, did not started profile at all, saved them, exited HB etc etc etc. All possible combination, without luck: the certain settings being reset while HB running. I can see it while opening settings UI and watching them in action:

It starts fine for the moment, options are set, if some enemies are around - it kills and loot them correctly.
Then, it mounts and goes to nearby quest and ... at some point (flightpath calculation?) I see that the (some) check boxes in options are being cleared.

It's damn magic computer at my home - it only have different hardware than the one, which I tried before and which was working fine.

ps. got to sleep 2am yesterday trying to figure out what might be the problem, and I have no clue so far...

I can confirm that the Escort, and FlyTo behaviors will alter your user settings (namely, Pull Distance, and harvest settings). The settings will automatically be restored when the behavior completes or the bot is stopped.

Many profiles will also change settings via the UserSettings behavior, but a good profile writer will restore them when the specific circumstances for the changes no longer exist.

There are no longer any bugs in these behaviors to my knowledge. I've no explanation for you as to why they would work on one computer and not another. I've been using these behaviors heavily of late, and they work as they were designed.

If I think of anything else to try, 'twill post back. But for right now, I must apologize for being tapped out of ideas.

I found that settings getting restored after FlyTo (seen it in log, yes, when settings got reset), and I guess that I just stuck with some particular profile/quest combination, which starts over and over. I'll move manually little further in game and just skip the buggy stuff. I hope, this will resolve it :)
