SO lately I've seen an increase in questions about VPNs and Which one is good Blah blah Etc etc.

So Instead of Me saying HEY THIS VPN IS REALLY GOOD. Let's let the community Decide!

If your VPN Program is not listed in the Poll please Add a reply with its name so we can get a better idea of it!

Also If you Use a VPN Tell use about your setup, How well does the program work for you too! :)

None, VPN are a way to tell blizz hey I bot slap me with a ban kk ty. A normal user will 90% of the time will connect from the same IPS using a regular direct connection. Where is a university, and stuff like that blizz knows do to ports and stuff. A company that making billions a year is not sitting down on their bots doing nothing. Don't do stuff a normal player won't do. For example blizz owns their server they are not freely open to public, why you need a VPN to connect to their servers if you just want to play?

The Website is under the Usage of OpenVPN and Is Owned By OpenVPN. When you sign up you are required to download the Program which does what a VPN is suppose to do. But the only difference is that OpenVPn is a Public VPN

Ah interesting. Never have heard of them (privatetunnel) and never really seen it advertised.

Regardless StrongVPN ftw.

Oh my gosh please delete this thread now for the amount of incorrect information in any regard to computer networking here is pitiful.

My eyes are burning.

Please allow me to clear this up for all of you.
OpenVPN is NOT a "PUBLIC" or "VPN SERVICE"

OpenVPN is software

I run it on a linux box at the same location for over 3 years at it's amazing. I don't rent it from anyone, I set it up at a remote location that I have access to 25mb/s line.

Please stop adding to this dread of incorrect information please. This is a place for users to get assistance and speculate. Not be spoon fed incorrect information by a user that doesn't fully understand what he's talking about.

I apologize for the misconception. The intention of this thread to allow the community to speak about their uses of VPN and Which they prefer. Yet, again this is why we have users like you to spread information across for a better understanding.

Thank you for the Information.

Who mentioned it was public? In another thread some guy said it was but I corrected him. Not this thread. Not sure who you are referring here to.

I wasn't referring to anyone. It was more to correct the wealth of incorrect information regarding OpenVPN in the past few days and whether or not it's a public service or software or rented service.

I was simply firing bird shot, not a slug.

good to see your not using the one i know about :D and its perfect for wow... gotta keep it secret from the chinese and others ^^

I've used VyprVPN for two years now with zero issues. They have a very nice client which automatically connects if it detects a non encrypted wifi connection. I disagree with the guy a page back, i think its more common to use VPN services now. I'm pretty much always connect to a VPN when i'm not at home.

Why do people use vpn's if you only have 1 pc? or is it for multi pcs/vm?
