VMWare vs Multiple Windows using multiple install directories.

Which do you guys use and why?

Nah, just wandering which to set up for a potential d3 bot machine.

For a previous D3 bot that no longer exists, I ran 8-12 within windows on the machine but wandered if people had more luck with performance / ease of maintenance using VM's.

i7
24g ram

i think ppl use VMware to get v.p.n for each D3.
D3 with VM takes about 2times cpu+ram.

What's the point of using a v.p.n. when botting regardless of location is bannable?

bump on the *** question.
It really worth having a *** on bots or maybe just gold delivery accounts (D3 & WOW)

Because having 12 accounts all playing 24/7 from the same IP is fishy.
You're probably more likely to get them chain banned from linking them through trading though.

My method in the past was have them all deposit into a guild bank then gquit after and rejoin a different private one while botting. Trash account does trades / sales. Worked for a long time but lost 30 or so accounts at once and just never bothered to do it since. This of course was all for WOW.

For D3 I simply traded it all to one other account and used it for deliveries - never had a problem till warden got turned on a few weeks after launch :P

Had they been using a ***, they still would have been perm banned for the same break in the TOS for automated game play / economy abuse regardless of location though.

- was not using any bots from here at the time

Thinking of doing 3-6 D3 and 6-12 WOW accounts again to ease back into it but trying to plan around using *** on bots or not, still undecided.

Got 4/5 banned some days ago and was using V P N s for each vmware instance.. maybe blizzard detects famous V P N ip range (hidemyass for example) and bans em? anyone know how safe is hidemyass?

first off i'd never use a *** service that has such a dumbass name.

there are lots of legitimate uses for a *** (accessing sites from outside the country, which may be blocked in other countries, etc)

sorry but thats just wrong.

a) you can use different ips for each d3 instance without a vm, i dont really see the point because they can just search for mac but whatever
b) a vm will not increase your cpu usage by alot, at least not with mordern cpus, the most noticable difference is increased memory usage, you might be able to run 10 instead of 8 bots but that about it.
