EDIT: I have found the problem, but i don't know how to fix it.

When i start diablo3 and demonbuddy on vmware, it starts at 1.1 gig ram used. This increases by 0.05 gig everytime the bot enters a new zone. the memory slowly builds up to 1.5 gig, then 2 gig, then eventually crashes the bot because of the memory build up.

how do i fix this?

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I just bought 4 DB keys and plan on buying up to 10 if i can get this to work, i already have the 10 accounts ready to bot with.

I allocate 2.5 gig of memory to my VM machines which, while botting, never really go over 1.2 gig.

there must be some kind of memory build up because the longer the bot runs, the more likely will i get the "Close diablo 3, we're low on memory" message in the guest virtual machine, and inevitably, demonbuddy crashes and tells me:

The instruction at (some code number) referenced memory at (another code number). The required data was not placed into memory because of an I/O error status of (another code number).

additionally, each instance of my bot running is taking 25 to 35% of my total host machine's CPU power. That seems like a large amount as i've seen people with the same processor, MB and 16gig ram as me be able to run over 5 instances without problems. the max i can go is 2 :S

I've used the following guide to the leter:
http://www.thebuddyforum.com/demonb...1741-guide-vmware-d3-they-way-shoud-done.html

Im using the following system specs:

Host: Windows 7 64bit
guest: windows 7 32 bit optimised (the one at 500mb diskspace that was reffered in the vmware guide)
Intel I5 quadcore 3470k
PXZ77 V-LX motherboard
16 gig ram
No graphics card (using the one integreated in the motherboard)

What might be the problem? It seems like there's some kind of memory build-up that ends up crashing the bot.

have you tried buying more ram?

i have 16 gig, that should be enough to run at least 2 instances...

i think the problem lies in some memory problem configuration within vmware, probably dumping excess memory somewhere where it build up

or the problem lies in my video card that i dont have....maybe a lot of ram is being used by the MB for the onboard video card and it would free it if i used a socketed full fledged video card

or anything else, i'm not expert but im pretty sure i have enough ram

i have found the problem and edited the original post accordingly. can anyone help?

Try giving each VM 2gb and turn on the page file. Give the page file like 200mb min and 800mb max. Also your cpu use is normal for using VMs and you will probably cap out at around 3-4 VMs. You would be able to bot more without vmware but not all 10. You will need to upgrade your pc if you are looking to bot a high amount of bots.

You couldnt have used that guide "to the letter" because how it is set up it addresses alot of the issues you are having, Mine never touch over 1.5gb within a vm with 1d3 1wow 1hb 1db in each. and thats with 1 processor from a i7 @4.3Ghz try going in and looking for:

serial0.present = "FALSE" <-- make sure that is false ( Or else you will see it taking Ram from the host under BCU I think it is
serial0.fileType = "thinprint"

ALSO MAKE SURE U HAVE :

mainMem.useNamedFile=FALSE
MemTrimRate=0
prefvmx.minVmMemPct = "100"
prefvmx.useRecommendedLockedMemSize = "TRUE"
sched.mem.pshare.enable = "FALSE"

INSIDE THE SAME FILE

In my case
Diablo3_1.vmx <--

this is not so much a post for this area but something you should be posting on VMware site and probably dont go into details of what, if your unable to google your problems

bolded: this is already done, i just checked.

edit: memtrimrate was = 0. Oops. will test to see if it fix it up

I had pagefile on, but for 16 to 4000 meg.

get the same problem, i set 3g for each guest, but still tells me to close D3.

Yep, happens to me too when i use more than 1 VM. I really hope someone will have advice for us, i tried all the tweaks suggested for vm and d3.

Since this is a VM issue, there is no official support for it.
Good luck finding a solution.
