virtual bot needed?

I was wondering if there was a legitimate reason to run the bot in a virtual box. I plan on only running a single bot and I am not aware of ggg's bot detection methods or banning practices. Any insight would be appreciated.

That's why I was asking. I just want to run a single one, I wasn't sure if some people are under the impression that VM provides a layer of security. I have been trying to find posts of people who have been running a single bot successfully for a long period of time to see what their strategy is.
