Upgrading to 15 bots from 12....can I run them?

System spec:

i7 3770K oc 4400 mhz
Asus z77A-g41
24 Mb ram
Geforce GTX 680
H80 corsair watercooling.

I've been running 12 bots. Since they have scheduled breaks, there are rarely more than 11 on at the same time. The computer handles them just fine, the overclock is minimal, changing core multiplier to 44 and adding 0,06V to core voltage. Not touching DRAM at all. ( I'm a complete oc noob and sadly none of my IT friends are familiar with OCing.)
Overheating is no issue too, been running realtemp and Intelburntest and they are within safe parameters. (years away from Tjunction, not so far from Tcasemax though.)
Ram and GPU are an overkill, I think I could run 20 bots with them without any problem.

But when it comes to CPU usage, Things are different. 10 bots have my cpu going from 40-50%; 11 make it jump to 55-70, and the times that all twelve are on cpu can vary wildly from 60-90+ usage. Especially the cpu usage jumps when several bots are doing the townrun sequence, at least thats what I have seen myself.

So, I don't know what to do. I would like to upgrade to 15 bots, but I'm concerned my comp wont handle them. I have a lot of options available, and I could use some advice on what to do.

1) go on, push the oc further and run them. (My less favoured option, I could probably press the self destruction button without realising it :) )
2) Stay like this.
3) Try to tweak even more settings everywhere, to reduce CPU usage. My actual settings are:
Trinity 10 ticks, 300 Cache refresh rate. Yar: Normal priority on all processes, all cores enabled for every d3 and db. d3 prefs to the minimum. (Spectrum-like 9,999999 Mipbias)
4) Wait for a new demonbuddy-trinity that lowers CPU usage, and controls d3 resource-hogging. Using trinity 1.7.2.3 Beta, didn't really see any difference in CPU usage from previous versions.

What do you advise? Thanks. If you have any question , or I have used incorrect terms, please take into account I'm not a computer pro and my english is not native!

Well OC is the obvious thing but i would not recommend it considering you pushing a 3,5GHZ CPU with almost 1 GHZ above. If you try to push it more i think you will need a better cooler or the chip may just give up, i have found that is easy to clock to 4,4 but if you try to push like 200GHZ more and you may need allot more Voltage and get allot more temp than you needed to clock to 4,4.

Tweaking DB and D3 is easiest but it reduces GPH/IPH and in the end the lower stats eats the benefit of putting 1-2 bots more. Of course i presume you use the pref file that is edited.

Rixx is currently working on reducing CPU but in the end you can expect CPU to increase when new options and features are released.

My advice is if you are willing have more bots is to get new PC for botting. Balista has a nice guide for 600 dollar rig running 10 bots. As in the end it cost far to much to get the hardware for more than 12 bots and its better to get a new rig. After all with 12 it should not be a problem to get a new budget rig.

EDITED: Because i write like chimp and it made no sense even to me after i re-read my post 2 hours later.

TPS reductions lower gph/iph. If you just reduce the shit out of all the settings to squeeze extra bots, it's really not relevant because each bot is performing significantly worse.

stay with 12 and prepare a budget for a new botting rig instead, I think you can't squeeze in 3 more tbh, at least not with proper settings.

I use 8tps and 200cache and run 11 bots with radeon hd 6950 and same cpu as you OC to 4.6.
and use 15fps.
New trinity reduced cpu alot.. :)

Thanks for all the answers so far!. I honestly thought I could squeeze 15 bots in this rig, I bought it specially for that. It costed over 1300 euros.....It was already paid by botting when I bought it, so everythings fine.

I plan to keep on botting on whatever game is most profitable at the future, so the option to buy a limited budget rig wouln't be the wisest right now.

Sadly new trinity haven't helped reduce cpu load at all in my personal case. It didn't increased though, and there are new config options, so its fine for me.

Is anyone experiencing huge cpu peaks when several bots are doing their townruns? by huge I mean going from 60 to 90% with the 12 bots on, 2 of them on town routine.

And reducing ticks/slowing cache refresh rate did not heavily affect my gph or xph or iph. It kept very similar, and I downgraded from 30 ticks to 10 ticks and 100 cache refresh to 300. Weird you noticed such a decrease, I really haven't.

Any other advice will be great, especially on the settings department. (yar-trinity-db-whatever)

And try setting tps to 8.

Let me know if it helps, there are some smart memory tools you can use as well.
But start with this, also how is your settings in windows layout?
All optimized for perfomance? Pagefiles for hdd memory etc..

Lol, when did you copy my d3prefs? Mine are identical to yours.

Yeah, I have everything windows-related on best performance, and about pagefile, I tried to tweak it before and had some problems, is working best for me allowing the system to determine its size. Also, both system and d3-db are on ssd, to improve acess time.

I'll try to reduce tps to 8, I have done it before but I didn't find it to reduce cpu usage by a lot, just slightly.

EDIT: Btw, those memory tools you mentioned, I thought they help to set a limited amount of ram available for each d3 instance, but I don't think they can help with cpu at all, am I wrong?

I got 9 running in a 2500k OC to 4.7ghz. I still can do some other stuff like 20 tabs Chrome, movies and so... For sure CPU is the problem. Mine goes 60-90%.
I am using TPS 8 and cache 250, no sure is these values helped, gonna be trying new settings very soon.

I am not sure! I am having issues with my internet for about 1 month, so usually I am getting crashs alot cause net drops and I cant keep tracking of my status. I think the tecs will come today and fix this, once its done, I got create a doc to write down my progress and see what fits better :)

Right now I am farming mp4 which I did not see a big improvment, plus the fact that my char has about 100kk gear worth... I will try to find the best mp to farm for that char, I think will be mp2 or mp3, just depends the g/iph.

Lets see :)

Ahhhh and of course, I will change the TPS and Cache values to see what happens.
