Just wanted to let you know that after I installed BuddyWing 1.0.1146.575 and ran it for the first time. I was informed that there was an update for buddywing.exe and asked if I would like to get it. Obviously I clicked OK, well.........[EPIC FAIL]

Norton reached out and grabbed that puppy by the short hairs. I went into the settings and adjusted the rule to allow it to communicate to the outside world.
Went to run it again only to find that the original buddywing.exe had been renamed. I restored the name and ran it again. Still no good.

It appears that the updater generates a unique name for itself each time it is run which makes creating a rule for it impossible.

I had to shutdown my firewall in order for the update to occur.

Norton is like the worst virusscanner you can use.
hogs up all resources and slows pc down.
you can better run without (unless you want to reach the pron sites in a more 'safe' way) :)

Tell me what you think the firewall should block?
Corruption of pcs goes way beyond a firewall and antivirus can detect.

If your going to go anywhere that is suspect to your PC, create a vm and either set it to not be able to be changed or make a copy of the file depending on how you are making your vm. Windows has the ability built right into it. Then when you get a virus etc you can just revert the vm back.

Well.... fact is I wouldn't even have Norton on my machine but for the fact I got a 1 year sub for beta testing for them. Otherwise I use an IP Table firewall on the linuxbox I use as my home networks gateway.
