Update concern

I just received an update on my phone for pokemon go from the app store (update must have been released maybe an hour ago). The bot still works but is it possible that this changes a file so they can tell whos playing on a phone with latest update and who is not to catch people? sounds like a good idea if i were them, although i know nothing about code.
Just want to know if it is safe to continue using the bot or if i should stop and wait for someone to look into it?

I am coding ignorant too but from what I can gather from previous threads and posts on this forum PokeFarmer communicates with the Niantic servers directly, meaning updates to the Pokemon Go client will not affect PokeFarmer.
