Unable to download HB client from thebuddyforum / buddyauth

Hi, as the title says, I cannot download the update client from this website.

I also cannot use the auto updater. I don't know if it is my region (Indonesia) or not, but I have tried on several IPs and computers via different routers and internet providers. It always starts and then gets to 20-30% then fatally times out.

Can anyone help provide an external mirror or torrent?

Yes, also does not work from the HB auto updater.

Lately, i have also been stuck on "Loading Tile/s" with constant "No data for ..._#_#.etm" which I believe is also a problem connecting to the HB mesh server.

So.. I cannot download updates manually or automatically (from any browser) and cannot update my mesh server. Everything worked fine 2 days ago. Is this happening to anyone else?

Firewall is completely turned off.
 
make sure you have port 5031 open on your router.
 
Let me provide more details:

The bot works great authenticating and as of two days ago, questing and instancing. It connects the authentication server like a dream.
Today, I can use BGBuddy presumably because it already has all of the mesh information loaded (forgive me if this is a misunderstanding).

No changes have been done to my router nor my computer. There is no firewall. It worked 2 days ago.

Now it cannot load new areas to quest in and I also cannot update the client. BGBuddy still working.

Sure. I am using beta because I experienced stuck issues in 501 which were cleared up in the beta build. I'm sure these are addressed in the 507 release build but I am unable to download it. Actually that's the reason why I started this thread in the first place. I think my inability to download meshes is related to my inability to download the new update.

Anyway, here is the log of 501 doing the same thing:

I had this problem previously when I was trying to download 501. I started a thread and an admin by the name of Tony was able to fix it. Here is that thread: http://www.thebuddyforum.com/honorb...wnload-honorbuddy-gatherbuddy.html#post804239

He didn't elaborate on what he changed to make it work but everything was fine after that.

As far as I can recall, the problem started again when the 507 update was released.

Just attempted to use the auto-patcher built into HB to patch to 507 once again to get the exact error message.
It deletes the old exe, and then hangs on "downloading a new version of Honorbuddy"

After a while it returns the message:
"Unhandled exception: System.Net.WebException: The operation has timed out.
at System.Net.WebClient.DownloadFile(Url address, String fileName)
at System.Net.WebClient.DownloadFile(String address, String fileName)
at Updater.Program.Main(String[] args)
The updater could not finish properly, please update manually!"

For the record I successfully used the HB patcher several days ago (before the patch release).

When trying to download directly from website:
At first I could get to about 20-30% before the download rate slowed to 0 and then timed out fatally.
Now, cannot start download at all.

Same problem: got to 18% and then reduced to 0 bytes/sec and time-out failure.

Turning on a web***** from the UK for attempt two...


WOW!! What a difference. The download finished in a matter of minutes with no problems. Don't know why I didn't try that earlier.

Now about to try updating my meshes for the questing zone using the UK *****.... will post here with results.


Can anyone give me a suggestion on what it is about my normal internet settings that made this difference? I am living in Indonesia.
 
This problem has been fixed. My issue was in connecting to the honorbuddy servers via my region/router/connection not sure what exactly was the problem.



To bypass router/region, try using Pingbuster (just google it). It requires a subscription but is cheap and effective. Tested and worked for me great.
