Hi Team,

The following message now comes up on all bots, via a pop-up window and the log, after a successful start:

[05:51:51.732 D] Unable to connect to the remote server
[05:51:51.772 D] at System.Net.WebClient.DownloadDataInternal(Uri address, WebRequest& request)
at System.Net.WebClient.DownloadString(Uri address)
at System.Net.WebClient.DownloadString(String address)
at Buddywing.MainWindow.<DoInitialization>b__e(Object o)
at System.Threading.QueueUserWorkItemCallback.WaitCallback_Context(Object state)
at System.Threading.ExecutionContext.runTryCode(Object userData)
at System.Runtime.CompilerServices.RuntimeHelpers.ExecuteCodeWithGuaranteedCleanup(TryCode code, CleanupCode backoutCode, Object userData)
at System.Threading.ExecutionContext.RunInternal(ExecutionContext executionContext, ContextCallback callback, Object state)
at System.Threading.ExecutionContext.Run(ExecutionContext executionContext, ContextCallback callback, Object state, Boolean ignoreSyncCtx)
at System.Threading.QueueUserWorkItemCallback.System.Threading.IThreadPoolWorkItem.ExecuteWorkItem()
at System.Threading.ThreadPoolWorkQueue.Dispatch()
at System.Threading._ThreadPoolWaitCallback.PerformWaitCallback()

The bot will continue to run on its own as long as the pop-up window is not clicked, but clicking OK will shut it down. Are we experiencing another security issue with the server?

Thanks,
-D

INteresting, this started happening to me right after I tried a new routine and I thought it was related to that. Yeah, I have the same problem.

I got word back from Tony and sent him more specifics, so the team here is aware of the issue. The following can help until the problem is resolved:

  • The bot will continue to run until the user clicks OK, so ignore the window.
  • If you do click OK, the bot will close/crash, but your session might remain active. If this happens, log in to Home Page - Buddy Auth Portal, click Sessions, and then kill the problematic session.

Happy botting,
-D

I didn't know you could do that! I always have to wait until the old session times out... which takes like 5 minutes. Talk about frustrating! Thanks for the tip about the portal!

Fixed. And no, it wasn't a security issue, it's just that we had moved the update server to another domain name and BW was still using the old one. You'll have to manually update for this one.

What's different about a manual update? Do you mean I need to re-download the .zip file from the website, or just run BW for the update? Sorry, at work and can't check my stuff.

I suppose he means we have to re-download. But since its too much hassle to re-install everything, I just use it like this and ignore the error.

Well, for the past few hours the download page has been unreachable, so at the moment I don't think we have a choice. :confused:
