Unable to check for an update

Every once and a while I will get, "Honorbuddy was unable to check for an update. Honorbuddy will not be able to update automatically. Logging in...". HB will just sit on that screen and never log in or do anything. I changed my DNS and tried a few different addresses because thats what seemed to resolve the issue before but now it doesn't seem to be helping. I've already tried flushing my DNS as well as downloaded a new copy of honorbuddy. Still no change. Anyone know?

I've been using the same Honorbuddy key that I purchased a few years ago and it's never been changed or anything. The same key has been working for me up to a few days ago. This is not the first time this has happened either, every few months this happens and I usually just wait a week until whatever the issue was goes away and then its back to normal.
I've already flushed my DNS, changed my DNS to multiple different IPs and locations, my host file matches what you have linked on that website exactly. I have also power cycled my router as well as reset everything on it back to the defaults and still no change.
 
the only other thing i can suggest is making sure you dont have multiple network adaptors active as sometimes that can cause issues.

All default settings, no AV. Also tried disabling the firewall completely. Just formatted Windows 7, downloaded wow & honorbuddy. Same issue.
 
Just connected my PC to my iphone and used the cellular internet and it worked. Which is good, but doesn't explain why most of the time I don't have an issue and then one day out of the blue I can't connect at all.
 
Issue was my router was not pulling the correct IP from the modem and I guess was throwing honorbuddy off even though everything else was working fine. Please close. Thanks for your help.
