Two Seperate WoW installs on same computer that use different settings?

Before 5.0 I had two different WoW's installed on my computer. One for regular play that was fullscreen and had all the graphics settings maxed out. The other install was windowed mode with minimal graphics settings I used to bot with.

Once 5.0 came out anytime I launched the 2nd install of WoW (the one with minimal graphics settings and in windows mode) It would use the same settings as my 1st WoW install (maxed out graphics and fullscreen)

I completely removed the 2nd install and reinstalled it with minimal settings yesterday and after I load it and it works fine, the graphics were minimal and it was in windowed mode. But after I closed it and opened my 1st WoW install (max graphics and fullscreen) and tried to open the 2nd install (min graphics and windowed) it would use the same settings as the first install.

So basically I'm trying to have two different of installs of WoW, one with max graphics and fullscreen (which works fine) and the 2nd install for botting that uses minimal graphics and in windowed mode (doesn't work and switches to the first wow install's settings)

I never had this problem pre 5.0 but now I can't figure it out. Any suggestions?

Are you using the Launcher for the wow.exe?

I use the launcher for my Normal WoW like you High Quality full screen, and another WoW install that runs directly from the wow.exe.

I think the launcher applies settings to the WoWs before launching them and the launcher data is stored in a common place so your settings keep getting "shared" happened to me until I just made short cuts.

Essentially launch your Full Screen as normal, but make a shortcut on your desktop to C:\xxx\xxx\HBWoWInstallFolder\wow.exe and launch from there when you bot.

Ah I see exactly what you're saying. The launcher common data is probably stored in some common cache file for both wow installs and to save the settings use the direct wow.exe instead of the launcher for the botting install. Hopefully it works I'll test it right now.

edit: It worked! Thanks so much dude ^_____^

Exactly. Since 5.0 I think that Launcher Information is now saved somewhere like C:\users\appdata\blizzard or something along those lines.

Dont use the launcher.
Simply install one wow then copy and paste the whole wow folder somewhere else.
Run 2nd wow from the wow.exe and change your settings.
Simply then run your main from launcher and your 2nd from wow.exe

That being said I havent actually installed wow on my PC since BC, just been copying and pasting for the past few years off mates.

I've always used the wow.exe even when not botting, i hate the launcher am trying to avoide it as much as possible :P

use the exe, launcher info is stored in user app data or something similar;

i have a install just for AH and addons related to ah, and another just to play/raid etc
