Two Questions about Profile Writing: Hotspots & Factions

I'm wondering if anyone could explain to me how they work. I know I can get my position and record the hotspots that way, but is it like a blackspot where I can set a radius? Should I make a polygon shape with My positions to designate an area to grind at, or does it work like a waypoint system?

What are these numbers used under factions? Could you provide some information regarding this?

Thanks to anyone kind enough to help me develop my first profile.

A Hotspot pretty much tells the bot that the area is a place where you want to complete an objective. Since there is no range for hotspots the range is determined from your "Pull Distance". Creating large shapes with hotspots with hotspots in the middle is always good profile practice. Since not many people make perfect profiles "Kill Between Hotspots" will kill inbetween the hotspots even though the profile doesn't have a hotspot in between the two.

Blackspots on the other hand tell the bot that the area is a disliked area. Blackspotting it multiple times tells the bot it is further less preferred to go into that area. Making a blackspot is just standing on one side of the issue you don't want your bot to go into and pushing Blackspot.. and then to go around to the other side and hit the Blackspot button again so it makes a circle with a radius of where it doesn't want to go.

Factions tells the bot what to kill unless told specifically in a Questing profile what to kill. Target a NPC and hit the Target Info button and it should give you..
Faction = 16 [Monster]
for example of course. You just put that number in there and the bot will kill any mob in your hotspot with those factions.

Hope it helps. Liferose.

Pull distance is the 'Max Distance' code I see here? <MaxDistance>75</MaxDistance>

In the sample profile I'm looking at, I see a designated 'Radius' section for blackspotting. Is that generally frowned upon or are you suggesting to make a circle with blackspots for areas I dislike my bot going?

Pull Distance is a setting in Honorbuddy specified by users for CC related means. Max Distance will override their setting. However Kill Between Hotspots (Another Bot Setting) will override both of them. Its a little complex I would look at the wiki.

When making a blackspot and you push the button it will tell you to run to the other end of the blackspotted area so you only blackspot what you need. You can if you want to stand and push the button 2 times and it will give you a blank radius and you can fill it out yourself. Making a blackspot the normal way adds a radius automatically

Ok great to know! Thank you very much.

One last question about factions: I'm looking at this <Factions>38 82 22</Factions>

Wouldn't all aggressive mobs have their Faction IDs labeled as 16, or do they change depending on the model/reputation they are with?
