Hey guys,

just had two botting accounts banned on Friday, attempted ticket appeal and were both denied - "confirmed our previous findings" etc.

Then on Saturday my main account was banned for "being associated with known botting accounts". I had sent items to my main account in the mail, which in retrospect was pretty dumb, but how is getting mail from guildies against the ToS? Do the police arrest people because they know thieves or drug dealers?

I don't mind losing the botting accounts but the other is my main account with over 8000 hours and a few thousand dollars spent. Other than the mail fiasco, I have never done anthing to jeopardise it.
In my ticket to Blizz I made up a story about how my brother used my other accoutns for botting without telling me and that I had no knowledge and he never used my main. Was this maybe a bad idea?

Questionaire for the two botting accounts:
1)Were you using Honorbuddy, Gatherbuddy or both on the account?
GB2

2)If so, when was the last time?:
Friday - DC and banned on re-login

3)What profile were you using?:
Zuabros' kalimdor mega route + Mirabis 85-86 Jade Forest v1.3

4)What combat class were you using? if None Just put Default then the Classname:
The Saint (Paladin)

5)What plugins are you using?:
Only AutoEquip2, Sharp Jump, Sharp away.

6)How many hours per day did you bot for?:
6-8
6.5)What honest percentage of time did you supervise your bot?
About 20-30%

7)How many auctions per day did you have?:
None on these, mailed to main account.

8)Did you Use Any Other Bots, Hacks, or Mods?
No

9)Was your account involved in gold selling?
No

10)EU or US realm?
US

My ticket to Blizz for my Main:
To whom it may concern,

My account was just banned for being "associated to multiple World of Warcraft accounts that were closed for participating in exploitative activities".

These accounts in question are two other accounts that I owned which I used for monitoring the auction house, playing twinks and having more alchemists and scribes on the server I play on due to the 11 character limit. To my knowledge (I may be wrong) sharing an account with an immediate family member is not against the ToS, so when my brother offered to farm crafting materials for me when i was out of the house, I agreed.

They were banned yesterday and when I asked him about it, he revealed he had been using third party programs on those two accounts to gain an advantage and sending to my main account what I thought was legitimately farmed materials via the in game mail system. I was furious.

I have never shared the account details of this account with anyone, nor have I ever participated in any illegal activities. I've been quick to report anything that looks suspicious and have long been a valued customer and have spent a great deal of time and money on this account.

I am fully prepared to accept the closure of the other two accounts for my brother's use of illegal activites, despite my naivety of his actions, but the closure of my main account, which has never done anything wrong, is completely absurd and downright insulting. I was completely ignorant to his actions and now I have lost an account and characters that I have poured countless hours of my heart and soul into.

You can remove the items and give me a temporary suspension, but if the closure isn't overturned you'll have lost a valuable and committed customer. I have bought collectors editions and subscribed to the annual pass and achieved a lot on this account - this is not something I would intentionally jeopardise.

Kind regards,

Their response:
Hello ----,

Thank you for your follow-up contact. An additional review of the previously communicated action taken against the World of Warcraft account ------ on [email protected] has been completed. Unfortunately, we have confirmed our initial findings. The account action will not be reversed or amended.

We base all of our actions on the severity of the violation, and take previous violations into consideration. This action has been taken in accordance with the Terms of Use (Blizzard Entertainment:World of Warcraft Terms of Use) and our In-Game Policies (http://us.battle.net/support/en/article/policy), which all players acknowledge and agree to prior to participation.

While we understand that you may disagree with some of the policies or conditions, the bottom line is that they allow us to maintain a fun and safe game environment.

We hope this has resolved any concerns you may have had. Please let us know if we can be of further assistance.

Regards,

A followup ticket from me:
Hello,

Thanks for your prompt reponse and I want to preface this by saying that I know this is not your fault, that you're following policies and instructions and I do not believe in "shooting the messenger", however, the response to my ticket is completely and totally unacceptable.

It is absolutely sickening that someone elses actions on a totally different account, unknown to me can cause my account to become disciplined and locked. How is it in any way justifiable to action someone based on association? Neither my account, nor I, has engaged in any illegal behaviour and this is nothing more than a gigantic slap in the face to a loyal customer who has spent thousands of hours and dollars on this account, with no intention of ever breaking Blizzard's EULA or ToS.

I simply do not understand this association bullshit.
I have not done anything wrong and I've lost everything because of your overzealous policies. I tried to be polite in my earlier ticket, but this is ludicrous.
I want this escalated to someone higher in the department and I want to be contacted by phone by said person.
I want my account reinstated and I demand a formal apology on this matter.

I look forward to your call,

Regards,

As you can see, I tried to make this appear as an angry individual who is clearly confused and upset about being banned for association with what has happened.

Any advice guys?

Thank you.

Yea, this sucks. Sorry you lost your accounts.

In reading your responses to Blizz, you admitted guilt x 2. Sharing an account with your brother is against ToS, plus the admission to your brother's botting. You are responsible for what happens on your accounts, now Blizz has you admitting in writing that you broke the rules.

It's just best to plead absolute ignorance. For future reference just tell them that you know nothing about nothing. You can just keep saying that the situation is very baffling. The longer explanations just tend to weave a story that can be broken down or just flat out rejected.

The other thing is - be nice. Anger will just get you pushed to the side. I call/e-mail & you seem to be very nice in spite of the situation, people are more willing to help.

Ok thanks for the reply, I guess my idea was to generate plausibility rather than just flat out deny it and seem a liar. I still said nothing illegal happened on the main account.
Any thoughts about where to go from here in getting my main back? If I call them I obviously can't feign ignorance now.

Any ideas are appreciated.

Using that kind of language will not make them reconsider. I mean; just imagine you working somewhere and some customer coming up to you and starts flinging "bullshit" and "overzealous" in your face, then calling you "ludicrous". Would you help him? I'd kindly tell him to take his swearing elsewhere and then call security. Demanding a formal apology is pushing it even further.

You're not going to get your account back with actions like that. The only thing you'll get is someone on the other side laughing his ass off whilst telling you you're screwed. What you want is immaterial; Blizz has every right to ban you (and in this case even more since you actually did commit the offense they're saying you did).

Dude i just say i got hacked and i always get my account back lol.

In other words, if you're sending CODs to another account (a random person) they might get banned? What kind of logic is that?

Yeah, sounds like you can get someone you don't like banned by sending them hundreds of mails and getting your account flagged for obvious botting. Might try this in future on AH competition. Jk

Interesting, and frustrating for you of cause. I have multiple botting accounts and I frequently send goods to my main (non botted accounts) via mail. I've had numerous botting accounts banned but never a non botted account "by association".

Sorry for your loss, but personally I would continue with you petitioning to have your account restored.

Thanks Fpsware,

When I call them, just play dumb? And if they mention my idioic story about brother botting on other accounts?
