Warden checks
You get the message...
Warden check in progress - please wait 15 minutes before trying again.
or, you are unable to connect to the Honorbuddy server, and you find a message like the following in your log file:
Securuty error:RemoteCertificateChainErrorsSystem.Security.Cryptography.X509Certificates.X509 ChainStatus A required certificate is not within its validity period when verifying against the current system clock or the timestamp in the signed file.
Honorbuddy uses an auxilliary program called 'Tripwire' that watches for changes in the Warden. If the Warden is doing something unsavory, Tripwire shuts Honorbuddy down?or prevents it from launching?and displays the above message. In short, Tripwire is potentially keeping you from being banned.
If this happens, check the forums for any news, then try to use Honorbuddy again in a few minutes.
Occasionally, Tripwire will mistakenly take preventative measures. This usually happens because of differences in timestamps between your machine and either the WoW, or the Honorbuddy servers. To correct a problem of time difference on your machine:
- Start → Control Panel → Date & Time
- Select the "Internet Time" tab
- Click on the "Change settings..." button
- In the "Internet Time Settings" popup, make sure a time server is selected, and click on "Update now"
The instructions above are for Win7. Other versions of Windoze will have slightly different placement of the needed controls.
After your machine has resynchronized its time, you will need to wait until Tripwire can take advantage of the time resynchronization. This make take a few minutes to a few hours?depending on how far your time was off compared to the servers.
There are certain 'hacks' that can be performed to suspend Tripwire checks. This is dangerous and can lead to your getting detected and banned. If you feel you can't wait it out and must bypass Tripwire, we strongly suggest you reconsider, but here is how to do it.
