Trinity settings wont change?

Probably has something to do with settings being saved on a per-character basis now.

Idk, set them manually i guess
I cant set them manually when he doesnt post the settings, and only has a download link. If you dont know a fix to somebodies question just simply dont reply to the thread.

You mentioned a problem and I gave you the cause. It doesn't solve your problem, sure, but it doesn't hurt you to know why it's happening.

here: instead of *\Demonbuddy\Settings\BattleNet ID\ paste it in *\Demonbuddy\Settings\BattleNet ID\ABunchOfNumbers

I didnt ask for a cause. Like i said it doesnt help me, if you dont know how to fix it simply just ignore the thread and move onto something you can help with. Going off your posts i get the feeling yo ujust post for the hell of it anyways.

Read again and please refrain from being a dick in the future.

Alright, let me explain myself.

I realize I came out as unhelpful and brisk in my first reply and even more so in my second one, I'm sorry about that and I also apologize for calling you a dick. I could've explained things a little better for you. Immediately after I replied to your thread, I opened my settings folder and looked for the new locations of the Trinity.xml file. Since it now works on a per-character basis, I checked Settings/Bnet#/ and looked for yet another folder that would be the character's inside that Bnet tag. I used the exact same information I gave you to find this, so it's not useless information like you said. I should probably have checked this first and only then replied, but unfortunately this didn't occur to me.

I try to always be helpful and not come out as cold or unsympathetic, but sometimes providing support becomes tiring and I end up giving less-than-ideal answers. However I always make note of complaints and bug reports and I try not to ignore anything. You're wrong if you think I post just for the hell of it. If I reply to a thread with a question, it's because I need more info to work on the problem because I want to help. I wouldn't be replying if I didn't.

I love working on Trinity and talking to the users is a huge part of it, so even if it may not look like it, I'm contantly trying to make this plugin better for everyone, including you.

Again unless im missing something, this doesnt help me with my issue.

The new path is Settings/Bnet#/CharSpeficicNumber instead of the old Settings/Bnet#/

All i have is my bnet# then a quest tools folder and thats it. What is a charspecificnumber? and how do i found out mine

Trinity should be generating the char specific folder automatically. Try this: open D3, log in, start a game with your crusader, then open DB, go to Trinity settings, change anything in there and click Save. Now go to DB/Settings/Bnet#/

In there you should see CharacterSettings.xml, Visualizer.xml, and at least one folder whose name is comprised of 8 numbers (like 12345678). Your Trinity.xml should be in there.

If you can't find the folder after doing this, then maybe you have an old version of trinity? Latest one is .45.1

It didnt create a folder, and now im getting this - https://gyazo.com/40ca229008d7b0c9f7ea2e3c68ca0374 Im also seeing the visualizer and character settings xml files and a trinity xml file. I tried changing the xml file again and nothing changed.

hi pcgamur

it could be a number of things, first thing to do when u need help is attach a log file so we can at the very least understand what plugins and versions you are running and possibly figure out what is wrong from that alone. https://www.thebuddyforum.com/honor...y-guides/35945-guide-how-attach-your-log.html

I just tried downloading the latest DB Beta, and using the plugins bundled with it (Adventurer .21 and Trinity .45.1). I used the file you linked from the guide and it did update my settings properly. So that removes the possibility that the author has posted a bad xml file or its not compatible with released versions of our plugins.

Before going into all the possible reasons why its not working for you, lets try something.

Try this,

  1. Create a new folder somewhere.
  2. Download DB Beta from official thread or this link.http://updates.buddyauth.com/GetNewest?filter=DemonbuddyBETA
  3. Extract the DB Beta Zip into your new (currently empty) folder.
  4. Start DB, enter your key etc.
  5. Go into Trinity Settings
  6. Save trinity settings.
  7. Exit DB Application.
  8. Find the folder [YourNewDBFolder]\Settings\BattleTag#0000\ and you should see a file Trinity.xml
  9. Delete Trinity.xml
  10. Copy the new Trinity.xml file from the forum guide, into the same folder.
  11. Run DB.
