Trade Exploit / Bot? I dunno

I didn't get jipped for much, like 1m....

Player: Hey I want to buy that for 1m
me: okay, /invite
player/me - open trade
me: place item into trade
player: places gold into the same trade

*hit trade* ----- Nothing happens, seems to just reset.

player: Yea this happens, since the patch today trade is being weird.
Me, not being a gullible dumba$$: Oh okay, just keep hitting trade, making sure the same amount of money is in the trade
player: Just keep hitting it, it will go through, happened to me last trade.

*should have just stopped at this point and left*

Me, not being a gullible dumba$$: oh look trade went through, due to item not being in inventory again
Me, not being a gullible dumba$$: oh look I still have the same amount of money :-$

player: Hey thats weird, but I think you are screwing with me... give me another item as collateral and ill give you some cash back, we both take and hit and be happy...
Me: shit, I just got screwed out of gold, and now hes staying here and actually trying to screw me again....

*end*

I know some of you know of this... And may even do it *glare* but for those of you who don't hopefully you don't fall for the same crap I did, maybe even for much much more...

The trade exploit is simply that he is closing the trade as you are about the drop the item into the chat. Unfortunately, the item doesn't reset back into your inventory, and you're clicking into the trade window a second too late and actually dropping the item on the ground.

Start using right click and this won't happen anymore.

Also, this is an old Diablo 2 scam. Really old.
 
Didnt play much diablo 2, his name was eaglestun.... If that isnt allowed delete this, but thats pretty shitty in my book and needs to be known.

Would be even worse if he was part of this community.
 
Blizzard has stated they won't do anything about this. Basically there's even autoIT scripts to pull off trade exploits now. It's common and they're making gazillions doing it. Simple solution is to use the auction house! Always

Just troll the shit out of him. Join every game that he starts/goes in. Try to purposely screw him over. Lol.

his main is a WD no? i've had a run in with this guy once and apparently alot of the people who were currently in trade chat knew of him as well.

he either tries to get you to fall for the drop item scam
or put a low number of gold into the trade window. my price was 14 mil and he thought i'd get confused with a 3.5 mil offer and think it was 35 mil or something :S

I guess he learned a new trick

first big flag for me was I checked his char first, WD only and he was bidding for a 14 mil DH glove that was priced near proper market value(no snipe)

he told you to keep pressing trade

so obviously he had a hotkey to remove his gold and hit trade really quick

because you were pressing trade a lot ut was obviously too quick for you to notice he removed the gold before pressing trade again
 
someone did exactly the same thing against me, its freaking pathetic, they're not even trying to scam that much, like 1m or so
 
Yea hes a witch doctor. I mean I wasnt spamming trade.... But kept clicking it like a tard. Oh well, my lesson learned. Its still a very sad sad way to make money.
