Toon deleted with items on AH

OK so bit of a mistake it would seem...

My AH toon was getting a little too well known and obviously on a few peoples 'friends' list. So I deleted him and made a new one. Problem being I forgot the items and inc. gold I had on the AH. I cleaned out bags etc but forgot the rest.

I'm surprised that wow let me delete the toon. Any ideas if its recoverable or have I lost the lot?

I dont believe you can delete a toon when you got stuff on the ah, not even when you have 1 mail inc but not
received yet, so no.

I dont buy this.

Character Restoration?

I wish that was the case. The AH that is, not the lurking .
I quit playing 2 or so years ago. Been on and off since then tho more on now! (yay)

Anyhow, im rather surprised too. I didn't think it was possible. I can still see my auctions on the AH under the same name. I even got a mate to buy one and he had no problem. There was no mail, just auctions. As im sure you can relate im rather reluctant to speak to a GM.

Aren't there some automated recovery tools available on Battle.net now? I know item restoration is available, not sure about character restoration ...

I know they don't let you transfer if you have stuff on the AH.
I'd be very very surprised if they let you delete a toon.

Are you sure you HAD stuff on the AH?

Yup. Still items on the AH. I can see them from my other characters. Can't see an automated character retrieval system, just items as far as I can tell.

On Cataclysm Expansion ( when the Darkmoon Faire appeared ) , I remember having 2 Treatise of Strategy on AH ( 10k each or more ). I deleted the char to create a new one ( for leveling purposes ) and I forgot to take the items off AH. Back then, I was 100% legit, therefore I opened a ticket without any fear . The GM told me that he has no logs of my character, cause it was deleted ... I don`t know if things are changed nowadays...

Bottom Line: GM told me he can`t give back my 2 treatises
