To what extent is chat monitored?

Hey guys,

so while being tired of no sleep I stupidly started a conversation with a guildie about using Honorbuddy and mentioned 'Honorbuddy' twice. Things like ''do you use the honorbuddy store?'' , ''you should get this plugin on your honorbuddy''

To what extent are these kinds of conversations/keywords monitored? Did I fuck myself over a bit? or bit worse did I fuck this person over somewhat too?

Thanks

i think they do monitor that word but not 100%, I personally wouldn't care.

This sounds Pretty bad Lol. Hope he haven´t reported you, or a GM haven´t seen any of the chat history. I would stop botting for a week or two.

Guildie uses it too so no, thinking more about what setting off the keyword in this context would do

Why would you talk to a guildie about botting in game? Don't you guys have a vent server or something?

I don't think they necessarily monitor chat, but they can definitely go back and look at it if something comes up.

Let's see. Possibly 6-7 million users, chatting, combat logs, loot and 1200 other things. Do you really think they are monitoring chat on the off chance you're an idiot and start talking about botting while in-game. I seriously doubt it.

are you really that naive that you dont think they have a software that filters chat for certain words and forwards logs of the conversations to a employee so he can check it ?

Are you really that paranoid that they do?

It would take way too much manpower to monitor chat, it simple wouldn't be worth it from a business perspective.

Like I said in my previous post, they definitely have the ability to check chat logs in case of reports, but I have never seen any posts anywhere from people getting banned specifically for talking about bots in chat.

With that being said, it's still not a good idea. I've had guildies that bot and they knew that I botted as well. We weren't stupid enough to talk about it using in game methods though. If we wanted to talk about it, we'd chat on our Vent server.

If you're not banned by next week I wouldn't worry, Till then keep checking your emails every 30 minutes.

Simply talking about it isn't going to get you banned. But if you do end up getting reported enough for them to investigate your account then they might see those chat logs. I'd say to avoid any dangerous botting (things like BGs or Dungeons) for a week or two just to be on the safe side...

Honorbuddy and botting is like fight club, you don't talk about it................... /tinfoil hat.
Seriously it should be ok though unless they decide to do an investigation for whatever reasons. Just remember bot smart and humanlike.
