tlx/tly and brx/bry - Can someone explain them to me?

After having made a bunch of profiles for ryftomate and found I really quite enjoyed it, I'm in the mood to make some alternate BGbot profiles for HB.

I've got the basics of profile making for HB, I've made regular grinding ones and even some questing ones before, but now that I've come to want to do BG ones I've encountered something I've never encountered before.

To get a 'feel' for it, I opened up the alteracvalley.xml to have a look-see and came across something I don't quite comprehend:

tlx/tly = Top-left of a 'box' to gather player counts from
brx/bry = Bottom-right of the above box

Can someone explain to me, in detail, what this actually signifies, and the process used to best obtain these values? I'd like to get it right first time around :)

Spoonerton (post 44): ".. as for the tlx/tly/brx/bry boxes i just ran around and made hotspots and recorded those values as if they were two opposite corners of a square.. from what i read i assume it takes those points and uses it as a field for searching for players.. "

It would be great if you could whip up something! I am *terrible* at trying to do these profiles, they never work out.
