its been around 5years since i bought my pc so its about that time.

current specs
-ASUSTeK P5QL pro motherboard
- intel core 2 quad q8220 2.33ghz
-4g ram
-geforce 9800GTX+ video card 512mb

what i want
-video card with atleast 1gb. $100 range
-a AMD processor that can handle a lot of multi tasking(like botting multiple d3s :p) $100 range
-also im looking into a ssd drive, im thinking of getting a 120gb but idk if 60 would be enough. $100 range

plz suggestions :D very thankful

if ur going to bash the post dnt expect a replay

Used GTX 460.
dunno about AMD I always go Intel.
Crucial 128GB M4 - around 100-120 depending where you get it or what deals are available. Look around. 60 is too small, it's better to get a 120 even if you use only 3-4 bots. It gives you room to expand later.

my 2 cents :D

i c. im looking on the specs to my motherboard n idk if amd is compatible. not sure how it works so im talkin out my ass here lol but online i only see info about intel. good looks on the hard drive, it might be a winner. the video card looks alil bit over my budget but promising

You won't be able to keep your mobo and run any current processors, hd's, or memory. There really isn't a point to half ass it since you can build a 6 bot comp for ~$600

yes unfortunately. this pc could handle 4bots im sure. idk if i should just buy a new motherboard. maybe ill just upgrade to the best processor i can find for this motherboard and add the ssd and a new video card with some extra ram. i can always reuse this hardware when i decide to get a new motherboard...

looks like its compatible with Core 2 Quad Q9500. looks decent

might just stay with my core 2 quad q8200 its not bad n still sells for $100

Southbridge
6 xSATA 3 Gb/s ports
Marvell? 6121 and 6111 SATA controller
1 xUltraDMA 133/100/66/33 for up to 2 PATA devices

Crucial 128 GB m4 2.5-Inch Solid State Drive SATA 6Gb/s

Your MB is gonna gimp that badass drive.

The first question I have to ask is, what region are you located in? (The states, Europe, Asia, ect?)

I typically use TigerDirect, and build really nice, complete, systems for around $800 USD. What is your budget? I have absolutely nothing to do right now, while waiting for DB since I don't play manually anymore (lol), so I will see what I can come up with.

im located in the states. i just purchased 8gb ram, 128gb ssd, windows 7 os, and a gtx 460 1gb video card. im kinda set i guess, i wnna upgrade my processor but the ones compatible with my motherboard which are better then my current one cost $200 which im not down for

thx mate, everything should be coming in a week or two. cnt wait

It really is never a good idea to try and upgrade bits and pieces of a computer at a time. Your motherboard, if you choose not to upgrade it is going to have not only limitations, but it will most likely be a severe bottleneck for your performance hardware. My suggestion, especially if you know how to build one yourself, is to buy all the parts, spend around 700$ and make yourself a nice machine that can run 7-10 bots. From my experience, make sure you have enough RAM. This is especially true since RAM is so unbelievably cheap right now. You wont be using a TON of processor power, I think with 8 bots running, I am at 20% processor load,(however I am running a 3930k 6 cores @ 4.4 ghz) so any decent processor, I would say 2700k is a good one to get. You don't need multiple video cards, I have one 7970, and it doesn't even get touched with 8 bots. But if you upgrade a couple pieces, and not the others, those slow pieces are going to hold your new pieces from running at full capacity. So, considering you are probably making $ by botting, bite the bullet, get a new computer, and be glad you did so you aren't constantly buying 1 piece of hardware at a time, and being severely disappointed in how little improvement you get.

to be honest the only thing missing is the processor and it isnt that bad. it can run 5bots. so with these upgrades especially that im triplingmy ram from 4 to 12gb and getting a much better video card i shouldnt have too many problems, once i get more money i can buy a new mother board that supports a wider ranger of processors and ofc a decent processor.

If you tell me how much you want to spend in a private message I can throw together an optimal build for you. It's what I do for a living, but I can send you to newegg so you can get all the parts. :)

Just so you know, you can buy twice that much ram for half the price. Old Ram is incredibly expensive. Might want to rethink getting a new motherboard so you can save yourself 100$ on RAM

My pc is 4+ years so i'm bying a new one
My specs are:
-16 gb ram
-geforce gtx670 dc2t
-motherboard asrock z77
-intel core i5 3570k
-samsung ssd 830 256gb

its a 1200-1500 euro build.

just bought a second-hand gpu on ebay... best way to throw your money away.... -> glitches, pixel-errors... i think the ram on the gpu is f***** up
i would not buy second-hand things with ram
