Threads getting bumped when someone answers poll - Is it necessary?

Opinions on this? Personally I feel like it only serves to make things confusing, especially for new users.

Sometimes a very old poll pops up which is a very vague question (i.e. best way to level, make gold, pet kittens) and you already see this question asked often. It comes down to what's more annoying, an old poll that gets bumped a lot or the same thread?

Fair point. They should look into changing the "Last Post By" column though, currently it shows the actual last poster but the time it displays is when the poll was last answered.

Very good and valid point.
I made some changes to the system so that votes should not change the thread date anymore meaning the thread should not be bumped anymore.
