Thought: WoW Subscriptions Dependent Upon HB

I started playing WoW in vanilla. I've played on and off over the last 10 years.

I started back up a few months ago and did multi-boxing; however, since /follow was removed from BGs multi-boxing was a dead end for me.

I then found HB. Since finding HB I have gone from 2 accounts to 5.

All accounts are paid monthly, meaning I pay the highest amount.

If HB did not exist I would have ZERO subscriptions to WoW. I no longer have an interest in pressing another trillion buttons over the next few years.

I run a small business myself. I keep track of my competition.

My assumption is Blizzard trolls these forums, has subscriptions to HB as well, and debugs HB to see how it works. It is a cat and mouse game.

For the Blizzard employees who will read this post. I repeat...You get paid by players like me who use HB because without HB I would have ZERO subscriptions.

In addition Blizzard you should be thanking HB.

I honestly dont think blizzard watches this site enough to see posts like these..

I have often wondered if the posted logs might contain enough info that they could track the user.... Probably not, but I bet there are whispers that they COULD trace back if they really wanted to - the timestamps would help that too.

theoretically logs COULD be used to pinpoint you same as screenshots, all they have to do is compare time diffrences between ingame events with their server logs for chars, it does require a lot of computer power but it is possible, that is main reason i avoid attaching logs on forums (other is low performance/high overhead of logging in HB)

wispers would 100% reveal you since they are highly unique, but i dont think HB logs wispers EVER, mayby if you have some plugin ...

Hi Rockcrawler,

Yes of course Blizzard would have scouts here, and who knows, maybe in amongst the developers even!?

Another hint I've always picked up on is Bossland's refusal to encroach upon automation (AFK botting) of Arena, it's a good policy -honour amongst thieves, so to speak -that honours Blizzard, and who knows represents a 'stand off' between Bossland and Blizzard; essentially, don't screw Blizzard over by automating arenas and Blizzard will play nicely with Bossland.

Either way, Blizzard have the resources to monitor the botting community and infiltrate them. As to what end, who knows? At the very least, thought -and this post -should remind ourselves to be a little vigilant with the information we share here and who might be reading it hey? ;)

You must have a super tinfoil hat.

Dude this so called business module didn't came from blizzard inside, somebody responsible for whoring money and keeping subs high, but it's not inner circle, if it's up to them, your ass would be cooled off long time aggo.

They do thank, relax mate!

When they ban you 5/5, you are obtaining another 5x wow licenses+expansions etc.

Thats how Blizzard get paid :D

I am not thinking that they will check you when you freeze your account cuz Honorbuddy doesnt work for the moment i think it is dependend of the Reports you get from other players and how long you use it. And i think too that blizzard knows how Honorbuddy works and they already debuged it but what do they have from that? Nothing because they´re getting from us botters more money from the Legit players.

I know you're trolling -at least hopefully, though given the vagueness -matched only by your wit no doubt -we won't know what part of my post you refer to exactly. But I'll indulge you in a few facts: Blizzard have a vested interest in Bossland, its bot and its community (1) because it has a direct effect on the operation of its game -market -gameplay -feedback and (2) because they know full well that Bossland bring / maintain subscriptions for Blizzard.

As for Bossland respecting Blizzard by prohibiting automated botting of Arenas, it's their official stance and you can find the quote for it elsewhere.

Bossland has said they do not support Arenas. They never said it was not possible to use a custom routine tweaked for PvP with Combat Bot, honorbuddy support PvP through routines and plugins made by the community and anything the community supports, honorbuddy inherently suppports. No, their subscriptions are not dependent on HB, they do receive a nice bit of money from the people who spend $100s on battlechests, MoP upgrades, and monthly subscriptions just from botting. They have the power to completely wipe out botting with ease, they do nothing besides ban leveled gatherer characters and people who move a lot of gold because it does nothing to them from a monetary point because they still get their money and these players are stopped from disrupting the economy too much. They want money from the normal players and botters. There's no need to watch these forums, they may have an interest in reversing honorbuddy to see the ins and outs, tripwire, etc. I think the majority of people really over think how much Blizzard is concerned.

Yep.. people way over think these things.
