This is the [Fix] for the World of wacraft starting only in 64bit version!

So the last couple of days i've had this issue where my world of warcraft only wanted to start as 64 bit even tho i ran the 32bit exe.

The fix i found working for me was

1.) Go to your World of Warcraft folder

2.) Rename the Wow64bit.exe to _Wow64bit.exe

3.) Now you should be able to start Wow.exe as normal

I support Honorbuddy even tho my 8 years old account got banned a few months back!
 
You can just change the name to pretty whatever you want, been posted to change it to wow641 aswell and that's what I do.
 
Just delete the 64 bit icon, works the same as renaming it.
 
Just remember, every time the game patches, it will download the latest 64 bit version and put wow64 back.

Every time.
 
there is no need to alter the gamefiles... dunno why people still rename or delete stuff, its nonsense
 
I put this in a .bat file that I run (in my WoW folder) whenever there's a new patch.

My reason is that I'm currently running the new Battle.net launcher, and this batch file allows me to run WoW from the Battle.net launcher and still get logged into my account w/o having to log in again.

Will changing the name allow me to start HB the old fashioned way?

Can you go to your World of Warcraft / WTF folder, and in there open the config.wtf file, and find this line:
SET launchthirtytwobitclient

Change the variable here to "1", so it reads as follows:
SET launchthirtytwobitclient "1"

Save and exit the file, then try the game again.

If you already have a shortcut for Wow.exe on your desktop then this is already partly finished.

Right-click your Wow.exe and under the menu hover over "Send to" and click "Desktop (create shortcut)".
Now right-click your desktop shortcut and go to "Properties" in the last part of the "Target" press the spacebar once
and add "-noautolaunch64bit" no quotes.
This way for as long Blizzard doesn't change the name of the argument this will work even if there are new clients.
For those that would rather not download something.
 
An easier solution is to use the Honorbuddy launcher, located in the HB folder. It is better than deleting or renaming executables because it allows you to launch 64-bit WoW when you don't want to use HB, for example when raiding, without renaming files.

always had some problems with the launcher, rest worked flawless (wow / hb)
