Things that honorbuddy truly needs

Ok, I have seen many people make comments as to what should be put in the honorbuddy releases to come, but I figured I would organize them, and explain why we need the features people have listed.

First, and foremost let me begin by saying that honorbuddy&Gatherbuddy are bots (as all of you know), but their is more to being a bot then doing your dirty work, it has to do it completely, and correctly.

In addition, their are many bots currently on the market that are available to use I will list a few and their comon issues.

Piroxbots: to expensive and hard to make profiles.

Aiobot: Automated questing bot, but runs in to walls and cant navigate correctly.

and lastly,

Honorbuddy& gatherbuddy: has a decent navigation system, but meshes need fixing, bot also tends to bug constantly while questing

IE: you start your bot, and after it gets to a quest, it tries to repeat the same step even though your profile is coded to go to the next after geting item x, or killing mob x times.

Last but not the very least, what honorbuddy and gatherbuddy need most.

Meshes: I understand that coding a bot is no simple task, but the fact of the matter is a bot is suposed to be like a (ro(bot) meaning, you set it to run, and walk away. with many mesh issues in the bot it has a hard time navigating in specific areas.

Irc monitoring: Irc is a really old form of communication that was used before im (instant messenger's) ever existed. So seeing as our competitor Pirox has a irc I think for Honorbuddy&gatherbuddy as a whole, from business to customer satisfaction, this is a must have.

Lastly, and probably most importantly.

A schedule area: Honorbuddy&Gatherbuddy already have a fantastic user friendly interface that both their main competitors pirox, and aio dont have so it cant hurt to add a scheduling system. This will allow user's to set a login and logout time, making the bot more like a human player.

The reason's for the few mentioned above.

Honorbuddy is well on its way to being the best bot on the market. Now all we need is stability and afk reliability, then people can really enjoy the potential this bot is offering now, and what it could offer in the future.

If anyone else has any suggestions please leave a comment below. Help honrobuddy&gatherbuddy programmers understand what needs to be done to make this the best bot on the market.

Thank you for reading my post, and if you like what i'm doing be sure to plus rep.

I will update this as I find more errors.

FP issues solved in last update

Bugs that I have come across in the recent patch
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bot is buggy on start up and some times does not start where it left off

Bot does not read your reputation to see if you can talk to a faction

IE: trys to buy food or drink from a target that is unfriendly.

Bot still gets disconnected with repopme error, this is a must fix it is ruining the botting experience for many

Features that still need to be added or fixed
----------------------------------------------------------------
meshes still need to be fixed

irc still not added

schedule system still not added

Honorbuddy is the best bot, but there is still things that other bots do better, like security and they have more "in built" features.
I think that it wouldn't be to hard to fix that...
Honorbuddy is ofc best anyway...

I completely agree, however as I stated even though bots are no easy task to build we need these features for the securtity you mention. If we have a schedule system, smoother mesh, and the bot doesn't stall unexpectedly during questing profiles, then we will have the most user friendly, easy to code bot on the market, and the developers will profit more enabling them to invest in adding lets say more features, security options, and just about everything else you stated.

I think its too easy to say fix the meshes. But i think there should be an Plugin or a webpage were you cann easily submit mesh problems.

Irc: Have you seen buddycenter? its fucking awesome and much better then pirox irc!

Schedule, yeah that would be nice, i think there is a plugin for that but never tested it, because it looks too complex :( (and im to lazy)

I think that screenshoter is missing. I mean the function of pirox to screenshot every time you get a whisper or stuck etc. Maybe i write a plugin when my bachelor thesis i done :D

the poll is kinda fake/fail

there are 32 voters in total and "Native flying" got 1.011 votes

Absolutely... Kick makes sure my vote carries a lot of weight. Chicago-style politics at its finest! So what's your point?

<smirk>,

I think what would make the most significant improvement would be if the devs team were to have 1 or 2 fully dedicated profile writers but this would nit be easy I know as mist people have full time jobs aswell lol

well atm i'm waiting for Natfoth to write some behaviors (and raphus to write / update - and of course Chinajade - he pwnsface too)

so, i might be doing some horde stuff to make the horde profile less fail (i've already updated the 'major' qq's)

Excellent iv bin trying a few horde quest profiles but they seem to just get stuck slot I'm using your human quest profile atm so I'll be looking forward to your horde ones :)

I think that if it were possible an auto update sort of feature would be awesome so that when u 1st start up hb it checks ur profiles, cc's and plugins etc and updates them if possible lol

i wrote a Quest Behavior that can be added to profiles to do AutoUpdates. once i work all the bugs out it will be awesome, but its still taking time, as far as CC's and Plugins go, there's no way to arrogate how people choose to code and do updates, if they wanna write a built in updater they can, but we cant force people, specially people who are just learning to code, to force updates. the other problem with doing updates to plugins and the HB core is the fact that if its provided by a 3rd party theres no way o make sure those files arent going to get modified and changed. can you imagine just having 1000 users auto update to a keylogger? cause some jerk decided it would be cool to change the update server to distribute a modified version of honorbuddy. maybe if it can be done safely autoupdating for honorbuddy can be a feature in the future, but theres a lot of cons that need to be looked at before that can become a possibility. how ever updating for users generated content will probably never happen. if someone wants to write and auto updater for their stuff, then fine, but there's no way for "US" to monitor and deal with that content of people constantly updating things.

Heres some logging from my testing, but still needs more testing before im ready to release.
