Theory: Spending money prevents ban

One of my accounts was perma-banned yesterday morning ("Failed to get game data from server"). Shit happens.

Now the weird part: the account has a sibling that was not banned. Both accounts were created the very same day (before the unknown6 issue came up, so both should be flagged) and they've both used the very same bots and tools simulationously for weeks. Same place, same settings, same IP, same everything. Two almost identical accounts, including similar names and account IDs, registered on two e-mails that only differ in one number.

I was wondering: If one of them get's a perm ban - Why not the other one, too?

And then it struck me: I spent money on the other account! I had some money left over on my playstore account so I had bought an item inventory expansion some days ago. That is literally the only difference between the accounts. The one I spent money on is still doing fine, the other one banned. Go figure.

I have 'played' MMORPGs for years and certainly niantic wouldn't be the first company to spare paying customers. Especially in free2play games. So my theory is, niantic bans away all the 'free' accounts just wasting server ressources, but spares the ones that invest money and use the shop (even if the are unkown6 flagged or otherwise convicted).

So my question is:

Is there anyone here who has been permbanned who has spent money in the shop?

Yes, mine was banned I spent about $60.

My question to you is the account that was banned, did you use any other type of gps spoofer or bot or anything else other than pokefarmer?
 
Yeah those were no Pokefarmer accounts, I used them to test all kinds of bots and sniping tools...

My Pokefarmer account has not been banned.

Ok, there maybe a link to this. Seems so far that everyone banned had more than pokefarmer botting or sniping etc. You are the second person to say that a pokefarmer used only account has not been banned.
 
Yep and even better, right after I spent 100 on another account that hadn't been banned and was VERY VERY careful, it got permabanned.
 
Yeah...theory is wrong my friend. I spent $45 and was banned.


Thankfully Apple let me refund all of the purchases.....
 
Heres what i did, still goin strong no ban:

I have 2 accounts, same as OP one that i spent about 100 eur on so far on random stuff, bigger bags, incubators etc, and still have some gold left to buy more with, and a second account ive mainly only botted on, i have botted extensively on both tho, and ive also flown around the world in lots of hours using Poke Location and moving around with nox alot last week. Nothing has happened so far, except my second botting account has hit the softban a few times in sydney (can pickup pokestops, but all pokemons flee, seems 12 hour with no action fixes this). I had this bug saturday after botting all day so i mustve hit the 1k limit that day, so i stopped and started going same spot but with my main account, nothing happened that i noticed on that at all, but maybe i didnt hit the limit. Sunday morning i started up the bot again on my alt bot account and after 8 hours or so i hit the softban with fleeing pokemons but pokestops working again, so switched accounts again, botted for 14 hours or so on my main account without hitting the softban, also in sydney. This morning i tested both accounts, since i have two phones i keep one acc logged in on each, both worked fine. i even caught a pokemon a few mins ago on the bot account here in my area.

Now saturday was the last time i used nox player and gps spoofed, since then all i have done was botting.

Im wondering if im flagged or not. But for now everythings working fine. I am however gonna hold off with botting for now, see what happens :)

*edit; If anyones wondering, i only used Pokefarmer for botting, used Bluestacks for a day to spoof, and nox from there on since bluestacks is horseshit.

I have had 2 accounts get banned and I have used nothing other than pokefarmer and I spent 10 on each of them to upgrade bag/storage. I can confirm that
1. Spending money doesn't protect you
2. You can be banned while using only pokefarmer
 
i spent 450 CHF (+-430 €), my acc permban yesterday evening for no reason. Level 37 :-(.


Other Account, 0 money spent, run's 24/7 with 50km/h and maximum "high risk settings" is not banned... level 34 now... let's see

Yeah, I got banned yesterday, and I have spendt ALOT of money on that account. ''Ye silly me''.. :rolleyes:
So I guess that theori is wrong aswell.
 
Yeah I don't think they care if you've spent money or not. I got the perma ban with about $30 spent. Probably cause I slipped up a few too many times lmao.
 
Ok, then apparently I was wrong. Nevermind!

But at at least /r/pokemongodev permabanned me too for asking the same question lol :D
 
Spent money on my main, got perma banned in the first wave. Was very careful too! Tried to do refund through google, but no luck there.
 
I run 3 Accounts:
1st is (was) level 32 - banned
I've spent a lot of money here (more than 400 Euros) and played all by myself until 10th of August, when I asked a friend to do some Activities while I'm on military duty.
I don't know if he botted or not - nevertheless just my idea of giving my main account to somebody else was plain stupid (we don't need to discuss that).
I came back on the 14th of August early in the morning, was able to catch some PokeMons and went offline. 14hrs later I got the Error.
Niantic is not answering any tickets and I don't see any "View Ticket Link" on my Mails.
Seems to be gone, will still fight for a refund or at least a confirmation for a ban.

2nd is lvl 21 - running fine
Pokefarmer running 14hrs a day
3rd is lvl 13 - running fine
Pokefarmer running 6hrs a day

Well, I don't really care anymore about the game and I'm pretty mad about this kind of stupidity (@myself & @my friend) and about customer service (@niantic).
Hard luck...

Spending money does NOT at all prevent Bans. No matter how much you spend!
