With the arrival of Legion, we've taken the opportunity to make a major upgrade to our auth and navigation systems.
These two functions are now integrated. For users there are three major improvements:
1. Ground and flight navigation have been re-written to be faster and more responsive. This leads to the new system
using less CPU and RAM and especially noticeable end of FPS spikes
2. Along with navigation systems, big portions of the Honorbuddy core has been rewritten to be more responsive and be
smarter. Some of which are; allowance of flying mounts to be used for ground navigation, better landing spot evaluation,
more randomized hotspots for bgbuddy and more functionality for 3rd party developers.
3. We are centralizing navigation on our auth servers to be able to control the paths generated. Like if many people are
using the same path, we can deliver random paths to each user. This will end the “bot train” effect that we have struggled
with in battlegrounds and in farming areas. Features like this is planned to be rolled after we have everything stable.
4. The auth upgrade should mean that we are able to grow the developer team so that the long term future of Honorbuddy
is more secure.
This is a very big change. We believe that the first two weeks of the expansion when most people will be playing by hand is
the best time to roll the new navigation system out. The rollout will be in stages, starting with questing, gathering, archaeology
and professionbuddy, then battlegrounds and finally dungeons. We will have it all working within the next week and expect to
have the inevitable bugs and annoyances all sorted by the end of September.
Despite of Honorbuddy 3 being a major version change, all previous purchases will continue working for it. The pricing will
also stay the same.
Thanks for your continued support and please do be patient with us as we push these improvements out over the next week.
