Blizzard wants fan feedback on Diablo 3 Ladders format. | Diablo: IncGamers

For those of you who didn't play D2, a ladder reset basically means everyone starts from nothing again, which in return essentially resets the economy.

To give you an idea I use to sell anni charms in D2 for $100+ after ladder resets before the reset the value was around $0.50... And this was during D2's last years before D3, so even as bad as D3 was, you'll have a lot of time to earn profits in the first few months.

Study and play hard.

;)

Very familiar with the subject, I'd probably go back to running my 48 if that happens..

ladder resets are so exciting, i would take a vacation leave and only do d3

Lol, they are trying to fix diablo 3. I need to finish leveling my toon to 60. Sad i only finished normal and never touched it again.

lol that topick is so old... Its just blizzard throwing a bone to the community. Dont get your hopes up, look how long it is taking them to implement the new itemization patch...

That specific topic isn't old at all, from a month ago and they keep bringing it up.

It will happen, to think it won't is just stupid.

very nice topic.., but how would you sell your profits if it doesn't have AH? 3rd-party websites?

Forums to trusted resellers like any other game. Sounds like you've not been in the game long.

like Ownedcore? i know the hastle of selling to 3rdparty sites. i use to sell forum gold for money.

Diablo 2 had a vast and rich user base. Diablo 3 is allready so run down that the prices will only stay high for a short time, once the few people with deep pockets are satisfied prices will plummet quickly. I wish they would of implemented this months ago before so many started quitting or going back to wow, or even right after the gold dupe.

if the itemization patch isnt garbage it will bring back a large number of players, and it will keep them for considerably longer.

a pvp system that doesnt completely blow will also help. even an update to the dueling system in place with an easy way to quick join duel games with some sort of stat tracking would help tons. if they ever get to the point where the pvp system was before they cancelled it then it would be even bigger. pvp is diablos end game for a high % of people that actually play the game and buy high end gear.

ive been wanting ladders since day 1. ive posted on d3 forums numerous times about it and have kept my fingers crossed for it. these games thrive off resets. its a race any way you cut it... be it race to best gear or lvl 60 or p100 or etc. once that is gone, the game slowly dies off w/o something else to keep peoples attention (pvp etc). they understand this now i think, this is not wow, more items does not reset the economy like it does in wow ... b/c there is no economy in wow aside from vanity or small gold cost for mats etc. w/o a working economy in d3, the game falls on its face.

there's nothing in gaming like the start of a ladder season in an item hunt game that millions of people play. every mob you kill actually has a decent chance to drop $USD. people can play manually and actually compete with bots 1:1 and still make $ or progress their characters. it makes the game fun knowing that everything you do has a chance at bettering you vs all the other players and nobody at that point in time is better than you are. it creates an addiction, to want that feeling every reset. maybe this time ill find a godly first week and be super rich and stay high on ladders. a manual played high end char at the start of the ladder can actually compete with bots somewhat. the gear prices keep bots in check and allows people to play w/o feeling like a complete waste. i have no idea how people still play this game with $0.018 gold, but can completely understand on a reset where gold goes back to $2-10/mil.

i think it will happen, and i think the itemization patch is going to be fairly good which will make both even better. items will grab lost players attention (with other additions to the game), and keep them playing longer (more items = more time for econ to collapse), and at the end ... when they tire and get bored again ... a reset will bring them back once again.

its a perfect system that has been in place for over a decade. why these scumbags chose to ignore it is beyond me.

p.s. i think console is a scapegoat for the single player whiners that keeps a lot of things from happening. thats something else to look forward to.

yea, but the itemization patch won't probably cum this year.

i dont really care when it happens, as long as it is a step up from the shithole of a game they published.

i would like for it to happen nov/dec, but will be ok with longer as long as they stop making dumbshit decisions and start bettering the game and not further ruining it.

the whole crafting boa system shows that the people that were in charge before have 0 clue about an arpg, let alone the diablo series.

lets have a game, which solely revolves around players grinding for gear to better their chars. then, lets add in boa (has no place in diablo in first place) items that completely destroy every item dropped for pretty much every slot, save a few drops which 1 legendary is the only option.

so now we have a dwindling player base playing a game hunting for gear, but 99% of the gear is useless even if it did roll the 1:5m odd roll. an item before crafting patch had astronomical odds to roll high tier (solid trifecta jewelry/glove, high stat/vit/ar/life% shoulders / chest etc) but they COULD ROLL THEM AND BE USEFUL / VALUABLE. after crafting patch they are a complete waste of time to even id.

it completely ruined the game and i truely hope they replaced those devs and move away from that path, or at the very least have crafted = drops. not real sure why the hell they would make crafted roll HIGHER instead of EQUAL to drops when the whole game is about drops. makes me furious.

them entertaining the ladder idea publicly now at least gives me some hope that they have replaced some of the shithooks from release.

p.s. spelling that word that way makes you an instant scumbag and pretty much invalidates anything you ever say past that word. its quite sad for saving 3 letters. hopefully you apply yourself better irl.

I'm waiting for whatever ladder\expansion to start the bot-race :)

Actually, wanna to travel back in time for 1 year :)

Clearly you haven't been in the game or lack experience/connections.

Trading with 3rd party sites is WAY better than going through Blizzard's auction house. You just need to make enough where they come to YOU via Skype all day long buying and within seconds you both have what you want with no bs fees or waits.

No bs fees and waits, you say, how about scamming? I have tried out many different "services" that allow you to "trade" and i've never felt safe. A friend of mine got scammed out of some very good gear 6 or so months back. So yeah, it is possible, but far less safe. That said, how are you gonna advertise yourself into becoming the "go to" guy for something? Have you ever actually tried that? I have, before botting i used to craft stuff for profit (even tho it was a joke) on a stream. I had lower prices then everyone and people still would go to craft in a famous streamer's crafting session. Point is, it is really not that simple- AH(RMAH) gives you direct access to the market, which is priceless. If there was a go to website for trading/selling/buying items that everyone visited, it could be as simple as u said it is, but you'd still have to worry about being scammed.

Cheers
