Apparently the store contracts only last through an expansion, so at the start of the Legion, devs weren't required to update their CR's.

I hope you got good use out of it since you won't be able to do anything with it now.

bobbe520 I fear wallyworld is correct:
How long are products offered in the Buddy Store supported?, or
Will I have to rebuy a product at the next game client expansion?

This concept is called a product's End-of-Life (EOL). The current Developer agreement requires developers to support their products for whichever comes first:

18 months after the product is first published, or
the next game client expansion

To clarify how the "first publication" clause works...

Assume a product is made available, and you purchase the product 12 months later. The developer is only required to support that product for six months more. The "first publication" date is available in the product's change log.

It is up to each developer as to how an EOL due to expansion is handled...

The developer may just 'update' his product and "keep going" with the same product. Alternatively, the developer may shelve the old product, and introduce a new one. Since each expansion usually requires a complete rewrite of many products (Combat Routines in particular), the latter situation is very likely. Thus, you may be faced with re-buying the product when the game client expansion drops.

I'm sorry you can't expect that products like this are going to be maintained forever. It is just a completely unreasonable expectation that was never presented that way.

Look at WoW Addons they don't get updated between expansions so why do you think that your code is going to be forever updated no matter what at the low cost that they are. If you don't like that system then don't use it, but no one promised forever updates on everything you ever paid for. This doesn't happen in ANY situation regardless of the product. Hell most products that say Lifetime are the lifetime of the product, which could be as little as a year to 18 months. Just because you want something to be one way doesn't automatically make it so.

Stick with tuanha. Used his scripts for four years now! I bought the "All classes pack" when it was only $45. Best botting investment ever!

so the writer just take my money and gone ?that sucks !!

Routines have always been supported only through an expansion. Right now there are not many routines available for Legion. It's entirely possible that a developer that wrote a routine for WoD will update theirs to work with Legion and you won't be charged extra, but until then you get what's on the store. You're really not paying for lifetime access when you buy a routine, you're paying for expansion access.

It is frightening that there is a new rotation bot that could be very far away as we know and like two devs that is offering and updating their CR:s on Buddystore....

It is exactly what ppl where saying when they announced LegionBuddy is that most devs will leave their CR:s for HB.

I don't think that's the issue. I think the issue is that the code-base has to be approved by HB Team. If your coding standard is lower than HB Team's standard, then your rotation doesn't get approved. If it's not approved, then it doesn't go to the store. I believe that is why you aren't seeing any out there.

Also the whole part of 40% of profits on Buddystore goes to Bossland. Which is huge. I guess it sort of made sense when they had lifetime keys for sale, but now that they have a monthly sub method it doesn't make sense to overcharge the store so hard. Obviously developers will stay away from the store, or just put their subpar products on the store that they have not spent much time on or do not intend to spend much time on.
