I only use HB using Enyo and Tuanha's CR's.
I am not banned. My account is on US.

However, there are a few people who said they got banned only using CR's.
Is it really true? Are you guys being honest saying that you were using CR's and ONLY CR's?

I know botting is never safe, but i thought only using CR's with HonorBuddy was one of the "safest" features.

I don't PvP much, so i'm more interested on people banned only using CR's on PvE.

You never know if they're telling the truth unless you are them. So at some point you have to decide if you believe them or not.

I ignored it at first as well, but lets be honest... there are a little too many reports saying this. There's always someone or a few people not being honest, but so many? No. Also, there were some people who reported about their ban who are on the forums for years, and I'm pretty sure that a good amount of them is telling the truth.

From a few i was checking it looked like they used either raidbot and/or garrisonbutler briefly.

Its also a dead give away if you dont have spells on your action bars and your doing dps....

That's assuming that player uses default action bars. Addons create their own buttons and action bars, so I doubt Blizzard are checking default action bars to test for bots.

The truth is, we have NO IDEA why people were banned. We can speculate (and it's been rampant on the forums) but other than "exploiting game mechanics" or other generic reasons, we don't really know why the tornado hit one house and not another. For me, it doesn't matter. I will continue to bot and use HB products because they make the game fun for me -- something Blizzard has done a good job of eliminating from the game. And if I can't play WoW the way I want, then I'll simply play, and pay for, a different game.

What's been useful in all these discussions are some of the tips, such as adjusting the interrupt times. I've also changed the way I play somewhat by using HB on all EXCEPT my most precious account. I wasn't hard core, I just used the bot to make the few things I did in the game enjoyable. I wasn't trying to top leaderboards, or rack up honor points, or dominate the auction house. I just wanted to ease the strain on my old joints and make things go a little faster when fishing or doing other mindless activities.

So Blizz wants to screw with me? (Yes, I realize I screwed with them first, but that's beside the point.) That just makes me more determined to do what *I* want to do in the game that I pay for. There are plenty of options I never considered until the ban. But now the gloves are off. If they ban another account I'll just create a new one. It's the questing, leveling and exploring I enjoy most anyway. Repetitive dungeon running has never been fun. As long as the game makes some activities onerous to carry out, people will find ways to alleviate that suffering. I knew botting was a risk, one I was -- and still am -- prepared to take. I know better now how to protect what I don't want to put at risk. I am not at all worried about using HB to do what I want to do.

Blizz smart, maybe, but Honorbuddy Team smarter.

There's your primary reason most likely. The tripwire didn't start detecting people. Most of these people were probably detected long before. So far GarrisonButler, or any of the other AFK Garrison plugins/botbases seem to be the very, very common theme amongst the reports. Not to mention the HB staff has already pointed out some of these ban reports came from people using illegitimate copies of HB.

Using CR with enyo to raid twice a week and have used archbuddy in the past for mounts. Not banned but I wouldnt be suprised if they are banning people in blocks at a time. I was online during tripwire, and own a legit version of HB.

I initiated an appeal, and I spoke with Blizzard on the phone moments ago. The operator said that he understands my position but that he has "clear and obvious proof" that my account was running alongside a "program which exploits the game environment." You may disregard this post by questioning its veracity or by rationalizing some reason to believe that you are different so as to justify your continued use of the bot, but I felt an obligation to state what I know to be true: use of combat routines alone can and does result in a ban.

Yes i can comfirm that using a CR (in my case demonic for my lock) with enyo can get you banned for 6 months-ive already posted this in other threads-never used garrrison profile nor grinded using GB

There's a very good chance that might have flagged your account, and not the CR. If you were ONLY using the CR, you wouldn't have been using any other additional plugins/features. Maybe I'm reading this wrong, but it looks to me like you used TuanHa's CR alongside something extra that VERY well could have been sending something back to Blizzard unbeknownst to you. As many others have said, the most surefire denominators in ALL of these ban reports so far has been one or both of the following:

1. People using illegitimate copies of HonorBuddy that didn't protect them during the tripwire event
2. People using some/any form of GarrisonButler, Garrison Lite, GarrisonBoss, or some variation of AFK Garrison shit.

Here is my best GUESS as to what might be going on.

A while back WOW updated and caused Tripwire to go off. If you were online during that time, you possibly got flagged. How? Let's say Blizzard put the patch live at 5pm. I'm sure they could check logs and see the hundreds of accounts that instantly logged off the moment the patch hit. Those accounts may have been flagged for more "scrutiny". They watched, saw botting behavior and threw out the 6 month ban. I'm guessing this because usually they will give a perm ban if they catch you botting. Manipulating the AH and things like that usually got a 72-hour ban. But now suddenly, since the tripwire event, a bunch of people are getting this new 6 month deal.

This is the only thing I can speculate. Stealth Patch, Tripwire kicks people off, suddenly some people are getting banned. The pieces fit. I'm curious how many of those who DID get banned were playing when the stealth patch hit and got booted.

Again.. this is simply a GUESS and I am in NO WAY saying this is what happened. It just makes more sense than suddenly Blizzard can see honorbuddy.exe running or whatever.

Was this one of TuanHa's free CRs or his paid one? TuanHa himself apologized in all of his threads for a lack of updates/support lately. It could either be something within those un-updated profiles or your use of Gatherbuddy sometime before, but my gut tells me it was your use of Gatherbuddy, even if it was last year. GatherBuddy has been one of the prime denominators in countless bans for a very long time, and Blizzard has been known to check very far back people's account activity in the past (they did very long check backs on the PQR bans to verify people for the Perma-bans). You very well might have gotten a ban based on running that last year.

there is no ban wave, it's just a cull of noob users that were a drain on the HB community in the first place. we need to cull at least 30% of the user base to stay more underground and i think noobs/casuals are the best candidates for that

I appreciate your honest story, but I am afraid, some on the instruments, you were actively using, have never been affiliated with Honorbuddy (so far). Yes, that is the paid Tuan routines, which are indeed 3rd party products, not distributed neither via TheBuddyForum, neither via BuddyStore.

So it is not correctly to blame the Honorbuddy team for 3rd party product:

Yes, all are already aware, that something is going on, we do see 6 months bans here and there, but never loose the global picture:

Honorbuddy is actively used by 20-50k accounts every day and we are yet to see more than 30 ban reports daily. Yes, 30!

Today we have 28 reports in the Ban Section - Ban Reports (In the last 24 hours)
Yesterday we had bit less than 20.
Wednesday we had around 16.
Total we have exactly 64 this week!

Even if we assume, that only 20% off the players care to fill reports, this could be ~300 accounts out of 50k+ active Honorbuddy users!

This is less than 1% ... correct me if I am wrong!
