From what I'm reading on this bill there trying to pass in the US they are going to try and keep us from sites like this. Because they are going to abuse this bill to no end. Send a letter into congress if you can.

IMO it wont stop me, since I'm on a german IP 90% of the time with a encryteped vpn. But it will stop more people from buying and using the bot.

Also another IMO sending a letter into congress will do shit. Since they all get paid off by big company's to pass this bull shit. So I would invest into a VPN soon. :)

In the US this is still consider a copyright infrengment site. Same reason why blizzard is suing if im correct. And why glider got shut down.

This shit just pisses me off. If this bill does pass im finding any way to move out of the US. Since I'm just started going to school for C++ and networking. Plus my A+ certification. So once I'm done with all that I'm out. The only thing that would suck is having no other family besides for relatives in germany. :P

It's easy enough to permanently stay in Germany (especially with relatives)

you just need insurance and 75 euro / year and you'll be your relatives will be responsible for keeping your fed and under a roof

=)

The bill he is talking about made it through a conference committee and nothing else. The bill didn't pass and its not even going to get read on the floor.

Over hype about nothing. Watch the Protect-IP bill and discussions in Europe. If that goes somewhere be concerned

Meh im still hoping to move out of the US. I'm learning german right now with rosetta stone. So I can understand alot of it. Just can say it yet. Lol.

What makes you think that living outside the United States is going to matter?

People used to love Australia...now its probably one of the worst 1st world places to live for censorship and lack of privacy. Britain is going the same route. So really its only a matter of time before it become pervasive other places. Germany will succumb to the Euro zone pressure when it comes.

What's happening in the US isn't unique.. the same companies that are pushing for this to happen are global. Sure, laws are different, governments are setup different, etc... but you still have very wealthy corporations pushing to protect their investments. It's a little different world now... borders are very foggy.

Plus, Blizzard would have to prove that this is actually against copyright law, as I don't believe that was actually proved in the Glider vs Blizzard case. The GvB case reached a settlement, so there was probably just a lack of funds to keep fighting.

Not as easy to stay in germany as you think as an american. Ive been there for 12 years. But it helps Im in the military and half german will all my family there except for 1 person.

Usually the way ISPs go about blocking sites is by removing them from their DNS. The way to get past that is assigning a manual DNS such as google 8.8.8.8 or opendns.
ofc. i can't say for sure that it's the way they work in the US but it is in most of europe.

When they pass a law to block one site, eho say they wont start blocking other soon.

Soon US is even worse then China, those who pro claim whis law might have ither intentions then just piracy at the bottom, who knows.

IMO it wont stop me, since I'm on a german IP 90% of the time with a encryteped vpn.
What the bill is talking about it blocking .net/.com/.org domains by simply removing them from the root DNS. There is nothing you can do about that when it happens. It doesn't even matter where you are if it happens because it will be blocked for the entire Internet.

Let's not fool ourselves: If this bill goes trough, the US government will have complete control over what you can or cannot see on .net/.com/.org domains.
