Hi,

i got a similar problem with HB 1.3.3.1

Authenticating..
The HTTP connection failed! Are you sure you are connected to the internet?

AV is disabled, no personal firewall is on.

is communication done on http ports? so i have to forward port 80/81 from my linux fw to my client machine?

do you always get this error or its random?
 
Hi,

got this error here in my 2nd home on my notebook.
might be an issue with the Notebook and not firewall or network related as i get this error on UMTS/3G connection too.
will try uninstalling the AV ... as only "unloading" did show no effect.

Loading Honorbuddy 1.7.4 settings.

is HB looking at proxy settings in browser configs?

as i have some proxies defined in IE which i only use in a certain network
 
ok it does! i removed my IE proxy setting and i got a connection

maybe worth putting in your documentation / faq !
