The future of HB when WoD is released

I'm not playing the game at the moment, but I may before WoD is released. I'm just concerned about the future of HB and its future relationship to WoD. The primary use of HB for me is the combat routines (TuanHa, Demonic, PR, etc). I've become "attached", if you will, to using HB for that purpose. So when HB is down, I'm not able to play as easily.

I am wondering how prepared the HB devs are for the release of WoD. You do respond to "ninja patches" fairly quickly, which is impressive. But an entirely new expansion of content? Like I said, I only use HB for the combat routines (a computer can work much faster than a pair of human hands and eyes, at least in gaming). If only the game's macro system could work such magic! My Protection Paladin is one of my few toons who requires a CR, where as my Warlock is able to function "okay" without one. Of course, with queue times for DPS being really long (and Draenei unable to be Warlocks for lore reasons), I'm probably gonna go with my Paladin during the next expansion.

I wish the HB devs the best of luck in making sure that HB is ready for WoD (and, come to think of it, the pre-WoD patch). Without your program, I'd be all over the place in the game, and would probably not have even one L90.
 
you'll be fine, so much stuff being removed, new set of rotations and "best" routines will be found as you level and shit so you can learn it all quiet easily.
 
If i remember correctly, the first few weeks of pandaria, the bot didn't work.

Might have to brush up on the future Prot Pally rotation then. One-button macros would be the next best thing until HB catches up to Warlords of Draenor's coding.

There weren't any profiles, but the bot worked just fine. I used lazy raider while leveling.
 
It'll probably take a couple of weeks for Honorbuddy to be updated (I think MoP was 2 or 3 weeks?). It depends what changes have been made (and are still to be made) to the underlying WoW engine. Remember, Blizzard tend to leave all of the nasty anti-bot stuff out until it goes live, so when it hits the live servers, the core dev team are starting from scratch.

Once HB has been updated, all of the profile / CR devs then need to start work on upgrading routines, questing packs, plugins etc.
 
I do remember when profiles for Thunder Isle didn't work 100% soon after 5.2 came out. I remember it being something to do with "mesh" issues. That got fixed eventually. The devastation in VoEB (5.4 SoO) destroyed rep grinding for Golden Lotus as well.

Regardless, I am also confident that HB will work for Warlords of Draenor in time. PQR, Glider, and others like them have fallen, but I don't see Honorbuddy falling any time soon. :)

Lucky for me I work away from home on a Roster so will miss the down time

I was around when Cataclysm came out, and if i remember correctly, it was updated and ready to go within days.


The problem is questing profiles takes time to make and perfect, because of different quest behaviours that needs to be done. When WoD comes out i will update my cloth/skinning profiles for WoD, and also put together a lot of farming profiles to get going.

Also devs. got access to beta, so often everything is mapped/MESH'd before initial release.
 
mop was a terrible downtime. almost 2 month until hb worked propper. after one month the 1st buggy releases came, after 2 month it was more or less stable.
WoD i think it will be worse. .mpq files will be changed to a new format by blizzard. navigation meshes are generated from the current mpq's.
i guess, it will be a really ,long break.
 
Standard HB downtime, maybe a little more with the format changes. Best option you have is to L2P as you level from 90 - 100...
 
They'll delete many abilities and change alot of stuff so I guess you'll be alright for 2-3 weeks :)

Weren't Blizzard doing some anti-routine stuff in WoD by the way? I think I read something like that here some time ago.
 
I wish that developers get access to beta and start work soon in new HB.

At this moment, i play beta and is to different ( more simple) play some class

All you have to do is create 100's accounts on wowhead and register a character on each to participate on each contest they make, since they are giving out keys.

Then you can give the keys to the devs :)
 
the major problem i think is ...
the old and good profiles, on forum wont be update becouse the profiler creator dont even play anymore...
 
hmmmm, thats in .. 6 months?

WoD is just another shitty expansion wich will require just as much time as any other expansion in the past did.

Its ready when ready and as always, it will be ready in weeks time. Im sure they can handle just another milk cow expansion.
