The effects botting has on a relationship.

Just want to see if anyone else has had any ill(or postive) effects from botting on a relationship with your significant other.

The past few girls I have dated loved the fact I had extra money to go out and do stuff or spend on a nice dinner out. However they hated the 30 minutes a night/morning I had to invest when posting my auctions. I told them it was just like checking Facebook for 30min like they did. This of course did not go over very well...lol

So what has botting done to your relationship?

But anyway, botting is really nice for me because it allows me to do everything I would if I wasn't playing WoW (homework, cleaning, having friends), but still get the benefits of playing all the time.

That definitely true and ultimately why the relationships ended. I think they were like that bc they didn't understand WOW let alone botting. Time for me to a personal out for a girl who plays WOW and loves botting

i told my gf that I need 1 hour each day after work and to look at it like a second job. I can be 5ft from her doing my second job or I can get a second job with WAY more hours and no flexiablity, crappy pay AND she wouldnt get to be 5ft from me, she would have to txt me and wait for a response. This didnt go over too well but its a work in progress. 2 months ago I made around $600.00 per toon in one month, last month because of all her complaining and nagging (sex > wow) I made $60.00 per toon. I told her this was not acceptable adn that I need to be doing my second job or else things between her and I need to end, plain and simple.

My ex thought it was redicilous but that's most likely because I also played raids n shit.. I don't see how making more money per active hour than you do on your job can be a negative to anybody tho.
Obviously more money, less time spent = win for you and obv everybody you hang out with rly since you'll have more money.

Although once she decided to surprise me by showing up at my house when I was in the middle of a multi server platinum sale (eq2) lol, didnt go overwell that she got to watch me on the comp for 30 minutes since some of them take a bit to get ready for trades.. lmao. I also used to craft/broker 2x a day on EQ2 so I'd be like ok give me 30 minutes b4 u come so I can do this..

or sometimes I'd wake up at 5 am with a text asking for demand and she'd be like I woke up in middle of night and u werent in bed.. what were u doing.. was like well.. I made 200 bucks, "ok dear no problem" lmao..

but i knew it bugged shit out of her, more so that she worked 40 hour job and i made more than she did a week ;p college students

If 30 minutes a day is a problem for her, run from that bitch as fast as possible as far as possible. You don't want to find out in a bad way what she will do to you (or what she wants to turn you into) once she gets more and more comfortable in your relationship as years go by...

Unless you just date her for sole purpose of having sex. Then it's ok, just be sneaky doing your own stuff. And don't sleep over too often.

1st off, botting honestly saved my relationship, before i started i played 12-18 hours a night JUST to break even with the stuff i wanted in game, now we have spare money, not much but some. I now get to spend the time cleaning around the house cooking for her and hanging out doing other stuff, I have dual monitors so i can bot and watch netflix on the other, OR play on my main goofing off. I have nothing bad to say about botting except i dont have more money right now to get 5 accounts running instances at the same time

This is very nice. And a great idea. Maybe next October we could do a "botting for breast cancer month" and donate a % of our proceeds to breast cancer research(or some other charity). It would also make blizz look awful when they attack botters that are giving back and making the community a better place.

This is a very similar situation I had with one of the girls. I would get AIM's in the middle of the night and have to go sell gold sometimes, or she would "suprise me at 3am after going out with her friends on the weekend and I would be selling massive quantities of gold. Then also my botting income alone was more than she made as a hairstylist. Ultimately it was too much for her to take and the relationship ended.

Her and I, along with one of my best friends have our own guild, I'd guess better stocked than most raiding guilds with about every high end mat in the game,
40K gold at the moment. Trying to get ready for Cataclysm. We have every profession covered, and all gathering professions covered at least 2x's...
WoW gives us just one more 'common ground' and another topic of conversation. Love her to death. She is my world and my best friend! Can't ask for more!
