Hey guys,
There are a lot of CC's out there, but which one is "the best"? Depending on class, race, spec, gear AND personal liking this is not easy to say. Or, not to say at all?
I myself created an Excel sheet with all my chars and specs. Below that I've written down the name of the CC that currently works best for me. I get this mostly by testing on a dummy. But not all CC's perform well on a dummy. Or, not at all (when target = dummy --> do nothing). Healing can not be tested on a dummy at all, so you need to run HC's of LFR or what not.
I notice it takes a lot of time to test a CC, because: what to test?
- DPS? Important, but maybe not the most
- HPS? Hard to say, depends on the group composition, role etc
- Smoothness? That would be nice, accounting for lag etc.
- GUI? Nice to have, configurable options with checkboxes?
- Using racials, abilities, trinkets, smart logic, boss fights coded in etc...
So, what I'm actually saying; Is it possible for the community to build up a list of all (current) CC's out there in one nicely sorted page, that states how well the CC in general is performing? Now basically everyone is testing for themselves and not sharing IN ONE EASY TO FIND PLACE how the CC performs.
Short example:
CLU 2.6.5:
Druid - Resto - Not for LFR because of lacking compensation for lag
HPS with reference Tier 13 char: 25000
Priest - Shadow - Not suited for questing because: Goes OOM fast
DPS with reference Tier 13 char: 16000
Noobrage (version number):
Priest - Disc - Sluggish respond to heals
HPS with reference Tier 13 char: 15000
Singular (version number):
Priest - Shadow - Doesn't use SW: Death often
DPS with reference Tier 13 char: 14000
And so on.
I know this is a lot of work and requires organisation skills, and maybe it's not even doable. Though not many CC's get updates often. Is there anyone who thinks...mm, I would like that?
We obviously need reference chars who don't change gear, preferably a WoW account or three, a lot of time, a nice looking sheet or overview page and so on.
What's my role in this all? I can contribute somewhat, but with my work and not being able to play often, I would probably not be the one to maintain this.
So, shoot
