CONTEXT:

Greetings,

* * * NOTICE OF LICENSE CLOSURE * * *

License Name: Z*****8
Action: Closure
Reason: Terms of Use Violation - Association to Exploitative licenses

After a thorough investigation, we have found that the license listed above is associated with multiple World of Warcraft licenses that were closed for participating in exploitative activities. As a result, this World of Warcraft license has been closed based on a review of the license and all related policy violations. This action has been taken in accordance with the Terms of Use (Blizzard Entertainment:World of Warcraft Terms of Use) and our In-Game Policies (https://battle.net/support/article/100644). Any recurring subscriptions on this license have been suspended to prevent further monetary charges.

You may not perform any acts that we consider to be damaging to World of Warcraft. While we try to be as lenient as possible, the exploitative trends present on licenses associated to the license listed above have led to their closure. Engaging in or associating with exploitative activity violates the World of Warcraft Terms of Use. We ask that you take a moment to review these terms (Blizzard Entertainment:World of Warcraft Terms of Use).

If you have additional questions or concerns, please reply to this ticket.

My MAIN account was banned for ASSOCIATING with my bot accounts... this is a first for me. I have had many bot accounts get banned over the years, but my main account has always been safe. My bot would deposit items in the guild bank, and my main account would do the auctioning. This has been fine for me in the past, I have no idea why my main account gets flagged suddenly. I googled the reason for the ban and got ZERO hits on google: "Terms of Use Violation - Association to Exploitative licenses".

Has anyone else ever had this happen? My main account is extremely valuable, seven level 90's (I NEVER bot my main account), and my main is ilvl 570, 9/14H atm, GM of a guild. I'm pretty fucked if I can't get this account back. I tried appealing through their ticket system 3 times so far, no luck. I'm going to call in a few hours and see if I can speak to someone.

just be truthful, and say I never bot on my main account because it is too important, please can you inspect the account and you'll see that I've never botted on this account although I did bot on another account, as per the agreements that I signed the account that wasn't botted on should not be treated as the either connect to or the same as the account that infringed on the agreement.

I tried being truthful twice, no dice.

My first ticket:

Hello,

My account was recently banned and I fully understand why. I 100% admit that I had secondary accounts to bot with, and I thought it could in no way affect my main account. This is the first time my main account has been banned, and it hit me in a really hard way. This game is a large part of my life, you can check my characters, I have several hundred days between them all played. I have paid for nearly (or over, now) 100+ character transfers/faction changes since the games release. I know this doesn't justify why my account should be unbanned, but I am a truly loyal subscriber to World of Warcraft. I am the GM of a guild, and this has been a very difficult tier for us keeping things together, and this would wholly crush our moral. I am sincerely sorry for what I've done, and I understand why I've been banned. I am asking you on a human level to give me a last chance, please. This game is such a large part of my life.

Regards,
Steve

First response:

Hey,

An additional review of the action has been completed. We have confirmed our initial findings, and the action will not be reversed or changed.

We understand that you may still have concerns regarding the action, but we must reiterate that it was taken to address a violation of the Terms of Use and End User License Agreement (Blizzard Entertainment:Blizzard Legal Documentation), which all players accept before logging into the game.

We understand that these policies may seem harsh, but they are in place to ensure that every player is able to enjoy their time in our games. Thank you for respecting our position.

Regards,
Xaleraphon

Second ticket:

Hello,

I recently submitted a ticket for an appeal and it was quickly dismissed. In the ticket I admitted to breaking the ToS, and the reply was that your initial findings were accurate. I'm not asking for a second evaluation at this point. I am asking to APPEAL the ban. As in appeal to your company to have some mercy on me.

I did this because I felt I needed to bot to keep up with the demands of this expansion. Do you know how many mats it takes to keep a guild supplied with flasks, potions and 300 food? It's insane. I wanted to still be able to work full-time and raid at a competitive level. I know what I did was wrong, why it is wrong, and I'm legitimately sorry for it. It WILL NOT happen again. I have been playing since the release of the game, and I honestly feel that botting was a product of the environment this expansion has created.
I have had this account since the release of the game in 2004. This account means so much to me.

Again, I am appealing the ban. Please consider lessening it to a temporary ban and I would be so thankful, and you would keep one of your most loyal customers. Please don't respond to me with the same copy/paste, I would like to have a conversation.

Regards,
Steve, a LOYAL subscriber since 2004

As you can see, I'm pretty fucked.

I submitted a third ticket as a last resort, saying my bnet and email got hacked, no luck w/that either. The first two e-mails were REALLY truthful, I was really hoping that would work.

What do you expect? If someone robs a bank and your are "only" the driver you are still fucked. Same in this case. Only because you didn't directly botted on this account, doesn't protect it in any single way.

I would never ever interact with a main account in any other way than some gold trading from time to time. I mean, of course they will see the connection if you sell the botted stuff every day?!

This is your fault that you are being banned. You said you where GUILTY but SORRY.
Your excuse should be IDK WTF Your talking about Blizz, I have NEVER Cheated, This is Bullshit Please look into this I'm a Vanilla subscriber.

lol @ "be truthful". never ever worked for anyone lol

As for email template - this is new template for old "Account under review", which made no sence since there was no review whatsoever and in this kind of ban they could also purge your guilds and characters across linked accounts. You had to contact gm's after unban to restore your guild/characters back lol. I only was able to restore one account with ban of this kind.

Also, this is manual ban. You cant dodge it if ur on same hardware and network. Good thing it happens rarely.

Sorry for you loss, dude. Your mistake was to auction with your main the material gathered by the bot. You should have only handled the gold with your main, but for your sell activity they condemn you in the chain. The imba seller will always fall.

Welcome to the club!

Lost a few thousand of $ worth account that way:, Multiple CE, Scarab Lord and tons of titles and mounts against the Association to Exploitative licenses.

Wish you a good luck with the appeals, since its one of the hardest bans to fight with, because its always manual, and usually signed with some Senior GM, indeed.

I personally gave up after over a year of appeals, mails, unban services, phonecalls etc. The best I could dig about it, was from the phone support, which honestly told me, that she can do nothing about it, but nicely explained me some of the reasons - The licence received tons of mats got by botting, and character from it was GM of a guild (which was indirectly used for goldselling), so thats why it received that curse "Association to Exploitative licenses."

Sweet jesus, they used to never associate non-botted accounts to botted accounts. Now I'm definitely scared

The multiple bans on botted accounts linked to the same bnet account or IP probably flagged your main for investigation. A GM who is versed in using a guild as a front for botting activity and transfer of gold/items probably reviewed the logs, then put two and two together.

That really sucks, I'm really sorry to hear it. Did you take any steps to mask the IP of your botting accounts prior to all of this?

I had alot of accounts and ALL got banned too for same reason , MAIN ACCOUNT ( very good one ) + other NEVER BOTED , they not even on same bnet account also they not even on same realm = NEVER transfered gold , mats , ect ...ALL GOT BANNED related to this association , so its quite simple they check ip of the account you botted then they MUST have a search function by ip and they check ALL accounts that had been loged by same IP and simple ban all , keep in mind i NEVER boted and played on other account at SAME time , the thing is if you use account to sell gold to those freaking cheap ass chineses like precious and others you are FUCKED no matter what ...is just a matter of time. They are using new detection systems by sure and im quite sure there are way less automated bans and more manual bans and those are bye bye account for sure , you can say you can give them 1000 excuses but belive me it WONT work , let me spam a bit so you understand what i mean.

Greetings,

That bnet account had several years , as you all know they repeat the same email over and over again with the " this penalty as been upheld" bla bla , i sent alot of tickets on last years about the accounts but after the last ban i had on ALL my accounts like i explaing above i tryed the " IM GONNA SUICIDE " TACTIC , spoke with GM online and he said he would check it and would send me email with all the info so this matter would be closed for good , (unban or keep banned ) , belive me ...they got alll logs and they check IP adress , so you cant botther to LIE them saying you got hacked and IP didnt changed at all and they know it. Also this shit that locks account once you change IP screws the hacked excuse , not to mention the MAC ADDRESS. I boted on more than 200 accounts over the years and made alot of $ of it , the bot is what it is and i know there is risks involved obviously and i dont blame the bot on NOTHING , you can bot for 20 mins and get banned and you can bot for 1 year and nothing happens . My advice is stay away of gatherbuddy. Im very sorry for my bad english. Take care all and happy boting
